I was totally blown away with everything that this device does. It's definitely not just a doorbell, it's a home security system. We feel so much safer with it. Thanks Ring!

Even though you have to pay for a subscription, it is optional. Without the subscription you can only see your camera live. With the subscription the camera will hold recordings of people who have been at your door. Even if you go for the no subscription route, you can still have a peace of mind as you can always see what or who is at your door without having to open the door.

My door faces east toward morning sun and seems to work well even in the sun light. Night vision is also remarkably good.
