We understand where you are coming from, as this isn't the experience we want our users to have. The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release) was designed to be a reliable home security device. You should be able to count on genuinely useful service. Please know we hear your concern, and would love to help find a solution.

The battery in this device is not intended to charge solely on solar or hardwired connections. These forms of power will only serve to supplement the existing charge. One must charge this device with the included USB cable until the battery is 100% charged.

Once fully charged, you may hard-wire or add a solar charger to help prolong the time between recharging manually.

Regardless, you should be able to obtain an acceptable amount of device performance before having to recharge. We'd like to ensure this is the case, can you please reach us directly?

Based on your review, it seems that you are not fully satisfied with your Ring Video Doorbell. If your device is not working as intended we recommend resetting your device. To reset your Ring Video Doorbell press and hold the setup button for 10-15 seconds and release. Once the white light on the front of the device stops spinning proceed with the setup process. Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with answering your doorbell from your Ring App. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible. Hi NayeliH, I definitely understand the importance of being able to rely on your Ring Doorbell. At this time, the Motion Warning feature is only available on some models. Your Doorbell should record when motion is detected or when you access the Live View. Make sure to review and adjust the Motion Zones on your Doorbell to cover the common pathways visitors to your door take. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the connectivity issue you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like your device is having trouble connecting to live events. If there is a long delay before your video starts, this can be caused by slow wifi speeds. Assuming you have high speed internet, reboot your router and the mobile phone, tablet, or PC you're accessing the video feed on, Then see if there's any difference when it's back on line.

To run a wifi speed test:

Turn off your mobile phone’s cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your device.
Tap Device Health.
Under Tools, tap Test Your Wifi.
Tap Start to run a test that will measure your upload and download speeds.
Both upload and download speeds should be at least 1 Mbps or greater, but 2 Mbps or above is ideal.
Check the numbers on your wifi speed test. If either your upload or download speeds are below 1 Mbps, then you might consider replacing your router (especially if it's older than five years). Contact your internet service provider to learn more about getting newer equipment and faster speeds.

The Ring No-Drill Mount is a mounting plate specifically designed for the Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release). Perfect for renters who can’t drill holes in their homes, with it, you can mount your new Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) and never worry about damage to the walls outside your door. The No-Drill Mount uses double-sided adhesive to attach the plate to your wall. Your doorbell can then be securely screwed into the mounting plate. Be sure to install the No-Drill Mount first and make sure it's firmly attached before installing the doorbell.
