I looked through several reviews of multiple doorbell cams and I have to say ring was my favorite choice. Installation instructions were very easy and set up also was. Works great and looks good with the bronze finish instead of silver. I feel safer knowing if someone is near my front door and can see who it is before opening it. The ability to talk to that person is fantastic and I can do it from anywhere using my cell phone.

It works great and detects motions before even getting to the ring doorbell and actually ringing it. Camera feature is nice and clear. The only complaint I have is that the corner mounting bracket should come standard with it. I couldn’t even buy it separately at Bestbuy as they don’t sell it.

I get a lot of notifications regarding community activity, but there is a way to limit this in the settings. It picks up a lot of motion activity.

At Ring, every device and service we make is designed to help give Neighbors peace of mind inside, protection outside, and a connection to what’s happening in the neighborhood.
We are happy to provide you with more information regarding the motion alerts issue that you mentioned in your review. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts", please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

The new 2020 version works so much better than the original. The picture is much clearer and wiring into my existing doorbell power worked instantly. I love the ring products. I have 3 doorbells, two battery spot lights and the path lights.. the lights work great in conjunction with the doorbells.

Super easy to install to my front door frame. I can now see what is going on at my home. I am going to also purchase the Ring Security to put above my garage so I have a broader span to see. Loving it..

It was very easy to install and set up the Ring account. I like the fact that I don't have to go to the if I am home as I can see who's at the door, record it and be able to communicate from where ever I am either home or away. Great product and Best Buy had the best price.

I love that the Ring notifies me when there is motion at my door. I really love that you can set boundaries for the motion detection so, for example, you don’t get alerts when neighbors simply walk down the sidewalk. Visitors can also leave a video “voicemail” which is nice. I wish the Ring worked with my current Google devices to at least ring through the speakers but I understand that the Ring is owned by Amazon and I will just need to switch to Alexa powered devices if I want this feature or buy the indoor chime kit.

I purchased the one that has rechargeable batteries in it which made it easier for installation. The picture is clear. The wide view finder is very helpful. And the sound is excellent. There are so many now even Ring has a bunch which can be confusing. I believe this one is an upgrade to the original with some better features. I replaced my original with this one which was an easy swap. Bought another as a gift, which also worked out perfect!
