Ring is happy to offer the option to bring advanced protection to your home with Video End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) for your Ring devices. The End-to-End Encryption feature is available for use with mobile devices utilizing iOS 14 or newer and Android 9 or newer. Video E2EE works with Ring app versions 5.34.0 and higher and Android 3.34.0 and higher.
We have included the instructions here for setting up Video End-to-End Encryption:
Update your mobile device and Ring app.
Go to Control Center in the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Control Center.
Tap Video Encryption.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Tap Video End-to-End Encryption.
Set up End-to-End Encryption
Tap Get Started.
Follow the in-app instructions to enroll your account in Video End-To-End Encryption.
Generate New Passphrase.
Enroll your mobile device.
Tap Resume Setup.

Enroll your Ring devices.

I hardwired it to my house, so it is always on and I do not have to worry about battery life! Great product!

I had to take away a star because the app is annoying. It crashes at times for no reason or will cause my phone to say there’s “not enough room to install this app” even though there’s more than enough space. I don’t understand why logging on straight to the ring website can’t offer the same functions so the app can be avoided all together.

The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.
Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router.
Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).
To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap “Devices.”
Select the ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.
