Better than the Ring Doorbell Pro.

We decided to get this version of the Ring Doorbell instead of the Pro and it has been working great. The only issue that I have is with the company refusing to allow me to transfer my plan that I had already paid for to this device from my old one. I had to re-purchase my annual plan. Other than that, great quality and I highly recommend it. If you don't have an existing traditional doorbell, then I recommend buying a Ring Chime so you can hear the doorbell in the house, not just on your phone.

The doorbell I didn’t know I wanted

This model comes with a rechargeable battery, but I opted to hardwire it in place of the exisiting doorbell. I have very minimal electrical experience, but with the help of some YouTube videos, I found the process super easy. Once installed, the setup and use is incredibly easy. Nice to be able to answer the door via the app, especially when youre not home. The wide angle lens provides way more coverage than i was expecting too!

Overall, the product meets and exceeds the descriptions online as well as the ease of use and installation. I also bought the door clamp separately to attach this doorbell to the door itself.

Installation was super easy. Audio isn't great, but good enough to not list under cons. Cons: Motion detection is suspect. Many false alarms. Goes live and doesn't record a event when motion is detected. Had to turn off the alerts because of the multiple false alarms, which defeats the purpose of the alerts. Note: We live at the end of the street with no traffic aside from neighbors walking and mail/package deliveries. We purchased 2 Ring doorbells. One at our front door facing a dead-end road approximately 75 feet away, and the other facing our empty, tree-lined back yard so there's no regular traffic, foot or vehicle) that would trip it. I've even watched our neighbor walk up the road without setting it off.

After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell is not picking up the correct motion. The Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) is the next generation of the original Ring Video Doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the 2020 release Video Doorbell boasts 1080p video, improved night vision, improved audio quality and near motion zone detection. If you are having trouble with your device picking up the correct motion. We recommend adjusting your motion settings and zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert. Get the RING DOORBELL! Easy & Effective,!

Almost plug & play! Highly recommend. One thing that was a suprise, the ring doorbell will not work with your standard doorbell. You will need to purxhase a ring plug in doorbell, if you have a 2 story home, zi suggest one for downstairs and pne for upstairs, very hard to hear with just one !
