Skips recordings, you do not see the person coming to the door. Even after pressing the bell. It shows the person's back leaving.

If you live in a climate that gets below freezing in the winter do not buy this! Even though it is hardwired it also contains a battery that dies when the temp drops below freezing and then it will not work until you take the whole thing off and charge it. Ring customer service did nothing except tell me the only fix is to buy a new one that is only hardwired.

      Hello MBmb,

We appreciate you leaving a review. We understand how important it is to ensure that the battery is holding its proper charge and how cumbersome recharging the batteries can be. Please know that we are here to resolve these concerns with you today.

Based on your review, it seems that you are experiencing frequent battery drainage. While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. This article will detail some of the factors that may cause your battery to require more frequent recharges: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208190773.

We appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring device to secure your home and know it's important that it meets your expectations. Please visit our community forum at https://community.ring.com/, as we have some additional solutions we'd love to share with you.

Absolutely worthless. It’s supposed to be the most current version and support 5G networks, but Best Buy messed up. I’ve been working ridiculous schedules so by the time I got around to installing it, it was passed the return date. The stupid thing will never stream live. It doesn’t work at all. Not even when you press the button itself. It is absolutely worthless. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND.

      Hello MrEMan,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of a seamless setup process, as this allows you to start using your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) right away. What you describe is not the experience we want you to have, rest assured we hear you and are here to offer our help.

While not comprehensive, the three most common causes of failure to complete the setup (after entering an incorrect password) are your Ring device being too far from your wifi router, having a problem with your internet connection, or some type of issue related to your wifi modem or router.

If you've already brought your Ring doorbell inside next to your router and the setup continues to fail, try rebooting your modem and/or router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, the devices like to be rebooted about once a month for optimal performance.

To reboot these devices, please follow the instructions below:
-Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don't just turn it off). If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them
-Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in and wait for your internet to be restored
-Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process for your Ring Doorbell.

We appreciate the value you have placed in owning a Ring doorbell for your home and would love to offer our assistance to ensure the setup completes. Please reach out to us at your earliest convenience.

      Thank you,
      Alexis with Ring Ring

Hi Saranjeetkaur. Finding the right home security device for your needs is an important concern. If the Video Doorbell doesn't quite fit what you're looking for, I'd recommend following up with the original retailer to discuss a return or an exchange. You can also find some information on all of our Video Doorbell models here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035250032-The-Ring-Doorbell-Buyer-s-Guide. Hello Hyper,

We understand how important it is to receive a trickle charge to your Ring Video Doorbell - 2020 Release. So long as the correct hardwiring is used, you can expect a supplemental trickle charge to your Ring doorbell. Please know we are here to help.

This device can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer for continuous charging Please ensure your transformer is rated at 8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz.

If your current hardwiring is not working, you may consider a Ring Plug-In adapter. This accessory will keep your device powered with a standard AC outlet.

You can learn more about this accessory here: https://ring.com/collections/accessories/products/video-doorbell-plugin-adapter-gen-2

In order to see past recorded videos from your ring device, you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan, which starts at $3/month per device or $30/year per device. Hello David,

Thank you for voicing your installation concerns with your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release). We know how important it is to quickly and easily set up your device. This Ring Doorbell should easily connect to your home wifi by using the Ring app. Our team is here to help find a solution.

Most pairing issues are caused by distance from the router or incorrect wifi passwords. If possible, bring the device near your router, and try the set-up again. Should this fail, double-check the wifi password to ensure there are no errors.

You can reach us directly for live support. One of our product specialists would love to connect with you directly. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

They store videos for you until the device is no longer returnable, then they erase everything and try to coerce you into purchasing their subscription in order to store events. This is extortion. Never purchasing anything from Ring again. I’ll be selling this thing at the next garage sale and buying something with internal storage.

      Hello Neighbor,

At Ring, we believe it is imperative that our customers receive all pertinent information regarding additional benefits they have the option to subscribe to, such as the Ring Protect Plan. Having this information allows someone to make the best purchasing decision for their needs. We provide information to our customers about the optional Ring Protect Plan on our Ring website, here: https://ring.com/protect-plans. Your Ring app will also notify you during the free 30-day trial of our cloud plan, as well as in an email after a successful setup of a Ring device. This communication is vital to your home security, as this impacts your experience with the Ring Video Doorbell, and we want to ensure you are receiving these alerts properly.

With the optional Ring Protect Plans, you have the ability to review, save and share your video recordings for as little as $3 a month. Your Ring videos are stored in the cloud for up to 60 days (in the US). Without a plan, you will still receive real time motion and ring alerts, as well as have access to the Ring live view feature.
