Purchased a Ring Video Doorbell after parent encountered a stairwell mishap. By installing the Ring Video Doorbell, ease and comfort in ones own home can be achieved without having to climb up and down the stairwell located in the home entranceway. After installation, the homeowner can first see who is visiting and then decide to open the door or not. Very useful, safe, and accommodating. Affordable, and aesthetically pleasing.

For example, there is no delay in notifications if someone walks by a couple times within a short span of time, so you can have multiple notifications for someone walking in and back out. Other than a few minor things I’m overall pleased with this camera.

We are happy to provide you with more information regarding the motion detection issue that you mentioned in your review. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

It was a very easy upgrade from the old, existing doorbell to this one. It's great to know who's ringing my doorbell which is connected to the same chime that was already wired to my old doorbell. The image quality is very good. I can monitor my packages as they are delivered or go back to see if they were delivered and when since each recording has an actual time stamped.

It does exactly what I need it to do and more. It’s great for those who buy things online often like me. The ring app gives me a notification when I get a package and it’s great because I’ve heard of packages going missing and such. I got the ring camera just for a doorbell and camera at first but I love the other features as well.
