The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. It sounds like your device is not detecting all of the motion you are wanting. The motion sensors in your Ring Video Doorbell are designed to detect motion up to 155 degrees horizontally and from five to 25 feet outward from the fixture. They're also more sensitive to horizontal movement across the detection area than vertical movement.
The proper placement of your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) will have a large impact on the motion your device detects. Proper placement depends on a number of factors, including the layout of your yard, the distance from the front door to the street, objects within the Ring Doorbell's field of view, the height of the door, and more. It does what its suppose to but there us a delay between the motion sensor triggering thebdevice to record and the device recording. Basically, you miss the first 2-3 seconds which is all it takes to swipe a package from your porch.

If the signal is on the weaker side, you might notice delays with motion detection and motion alerts. Additionally, try adjusting your Motion Zones to ensure they cover common pathways that visitors to your property may take.
