The camera detects motion and can alert you via the App even when the person doesn't ring the doorbell. Offers the option to speak with them. App settings can be adjusted to your preferences (times, distance). A subscription is needed if you'd like more than live streams only (free). For $3 a month, the videos will be stored online for 30 days, and they can be downloaded.

I picked up this doorbell on promotion. One thing to think about is the location of your current doorbell, as well as the power of your transformer. Ours was in a height position where you could see only the chest and stomach of a visitor. With that I had to buy additional doorbell wire and a new transformer. From there I had to drill a hole about 2 ft higher on the door frame, fish the wire down, and connect it to the existing wire. Once installed I had to use wood filler on the old hole, sand, and paint the entire frame. It was a lot more than a quick swap out, but we’ll worth the piece of mind.
