It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires existing doorbell wiring for its power supply, but it does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, pair it with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device (each sold separately).

We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regard to night vision. Night vision performance can sometimes be affected by surrounding light sources. If there is light shining directly into the camera, it may reduce image clarity at night. To fix this, try adjusting them so the light isn't directly hitting the camera lens. Poor wifi can also cause Ring device issues, including video quality. We recommend following these steps in the Ring app: Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your device. Tap the "Device Settings" tile. Tap "Device Health." Under the "Network" section, you'll see your device's "Signal Strength." If your "Signal Strength" (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi.
We understand the importance of having events recorded on your Ring Video Doorbell Wired. Ring offers several plans designed to fit different needs. The Ring Protect Plan enables you to record, save, and share your videos, further enhancing your home security. Without a Ring Protect Plan, your Ring products provide certain features such as Live View, Two-Way Talk, and Real-Time Notifications on your smartphone.

Perfect, and almost perfect if having more than 1

I had to upgrade the transformer to a 24v 40VA to ensure they had sufficient power. Needless to say, it worked perfectly and integrates extremely well with the Echo Show. The only drawback is that I needed to get an extra chime because there is a limitation with having one chime with 2 Ring doorbells. Having only one chime means both doorbells will have the same ring tone. The app does not let you choose a different one for each Ring Doorbell.

My only gripe is that it doesn’t work with your existing door chime. Works directly with Alexa to announce motion in front of the doorbell. Definitely had to tune it as the days went on but super happy for it with the price. Video quality is distorted sometimes when I review it but clear when live.

Self-installed and Works Perfectly

For what I paid, this doorbell looks a lot better than the one I had and it was really easy to self-install (took less than an hour) - and I’m not handy at all! Reason I’m giving it 4-stars is that the motion detection is really sensitive and notifies me any time someone walks on the sidewalk by my house. If my front patio was a little further back, it might not be a problem - but it is kind of annoying.

I had asked at Best Buy if it required a subscription and I was told no… well that was a lie .
