Great hardware. Needs better subscription plans

However I thought it was a one time purchase. You have to get an at least $40 a year subscription to take advantage of what it offers.

The ring bell transformer power output is a hit or miss scenario so it is advisable to measure the voltage before buying / installing the product.

Honestly didnt think i was going to rely on it as much as I do. Only downside is since my pourch is dark it doesnt always detect motion at night.

The Ring Protect Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

Great door bell with video

Downside is the range of the video, very small.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a wired-only doorbell and connects to your existing doorbell wiring for non-stop power. During the installation of this doorbell, you will be instructed to bypass the existing doorbell chime in your home. This means that after installation, your home doorbell system will not sound when the device’s button is pressed. If you wish to hear audio alerts in your home, you can pair your Video Doorbell Wired with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device.

Per her statement “it’s a great accessory for my purse”. Little does she know that it has a apple tag hidden on it. Now I can keep track of her, I mean her purse.

Check the voltage at your current bell before buying, must be 18v. Once hooked up it works great. $3 ring subscription to save video, 1st month free.

I got this video doorbell so that I could see the front door visitors - and got an added benefit of getting alerts about a neighborhood area that I can define.

It has great night time vision and includes options usually only available in higher price units! Yearly fee for cloud storage is very reasonable. Works great with my echo dots, phone and Echo show!

Unfortunately I have an older house with an oddly wired doorbell. A real headache. If I had it to do over I’d have purchased the wireless version.
