One thing to think about is the location of your current doorbell, as well as the power of your transformer. Ours was in a height position where you could see only the chest and stomach of a visitor. With that I had to buy additional doorbell wire and a new transformer. From there I had to drill a hole about 2 ft higher on the door frame, fish the wire down, and connect it to the existing wire. Once installed I had to use wood filler on the old hole, sand, and paint the entire frame. It was a lot more than a quick swap out, but we’ll worth the piece of mind.

It is nice to know when our packages are delivered immediately. Packages use to sit at the door for days because we don’t use the front door. You can set your “span of view” to your liking and the sensitivity of the detection when something or someone is in view.

Easy to install, and when the doorbell is pressed or motion is detected, the app quickly fires up elimanating the delay that once was a major frustration.

We would like to provide you with solutions to the concerns you are experiencing today!
To enable your in-home chime, please follow these steps in the Ring app:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
Tap your device's Settings.
Tap the Device Settings tile.
Tap In-home Chime Settings.
Select your Chime Type (Mechanical, Digital, or None)
Tap the toggle to turn on or turn off your in-home doorbell chime.
Tap Save in the upper right to save your changes.
If the app is unable to detect an in-home chime, follow the steps below to manually configure.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Select your Chime Type (Mechanical, Digital Type 1, or Digital Type 2).
Tap Continue.
Tap Ring my in-home chime.
Follow the prompts in the app to complete the test.
Using incompatible power sources can damage your device and cause electric shock. To identify which type or doorbell chime you have, listen to the sound it makes.
A mechanical chime uses a physical bell and a mechanical hammer and makes a traditional ding-dong sound. A digital chime plays pre-recorded digital tones through an electronic speaker and often has a selection of different tones you can choose from. If you're unsure what type of doorbell chime you have, remove the front of your chime box and look inside for a bell and hammer or an electronic speaker.
