It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. If you're installing a Video Doorbell on a house where the door is at the top of a set of stairs, you can use a Ring Wedge Kit to properly position the device. If your door is above ground level with stairs leading up to it, this can cause your Ring Video Doorbell to miss visitors walking up your stairs. It can also cause you to get motion alerts from passing traffic.

My house is really old and once installed it said I needed the Ring Transformer kit to replace the under powered transformer from the old doorbell. However the electrician couldn't find the old transformer, so had to return to get a wireless doorbell.

Everyone knows what and how to use them by now, so I highly recommend purchasing one. They are easy to install even if you are using your existing doorbell power supply. If you follow the instructions you can't miss. Highly recommended.

If you have a mechanical doorbell its best to get the additional chime so you'll be able to hear the doorbell ring. I also ran into issues with setting this up but the ring customer service helped with a reset. The only issue I have now is that once in a while it might shut off and I think that's because my internet is slow and disconnects often.

It sounds like the device is not operating as intended. Ring devices require high-speed internet to bring you crisp, clear video and audio. Poor network connectivity can affect the performance of your Ring device. Identify and troubleshoot what is causing connectivity issues for Ring devices to give you the best possible video and audio experience.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

Great Investment

The doorbell lets me know when someone is at my door. Sometimes it's a few seconds off, but it is a good investment. You can also answer the person at your door using your phone, while you are away.

By far it is a great purchase and a great value at $59 you cannot beat it. I was afraid that it would not connect to my ring Pro chime ,but it did with ease so I didn’t have to purchase any additional accessories to make this work great. great purchase ring by far is one of the best companies out with these type of devices
