It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires existing doorbell wiring for its power supply, but it does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, pair it with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device (each sold separately).

Relatively inexpensive security

Easy to use, connects to Alexa. Not the best quality picture but does the job. Don't need a subscription to use if just for convenience but kind of pointless for security without one. Subscription is worth it though for peace of mind ($40/ year, used to be $30)

Easy to install!

Integrates well into a smart home with Alexa support. You have to bypass your previous wired alarm so there is no chime. An Alexa speaker can alert you with a chime or a message when it is pressed. You do not need to buy the ring chime plug in to use with this.

This is for my Senior Mom to help keep her safe now that she's a widow. I like that I have access to it so I can see what's happening. Black Friday deals are helpful too
