We recommend the installation of a Ring Chime to enable chime functionality. Ring Chime is an easy-to-install, plug-in device that audibly alerts you in real-time when someone rings your doorbell as well as providing notifications for motion detected by your Ring cameras and doorbells, all customizable with various tones, volume control, and a snooze feature via the Ring app.

For Ring doorbells that are not compatible with existing chimes, we reccimend adding a Ring Chime or Ring Chime Pro to your network, or connect to an Echo (Alexa) device to receive audio alerts in your home.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We believe that transparency is key in order to make informed purchasing decisions. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a wired-only doorbell and connects to your existing doorbell wiring for non-stop power.

During the installation of this doorbell, you will be instructed to bypass the existing doorbell chime in your home. This means that after installation, your home doorbell system will not sound when the device’s button is pressed. If you wish to hear audio alerts in your home, you can pair your Video Doorbell Wired with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device.
