Love our ring!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got our ring because there was some interesting things happening in our neighborhood and we wanted to make sure we knew what went on outside our house. Love it! I love being able to talk to our kids as they get home from school while I’m still at work. The only think I wish improved is the real time. We’ve noticed it is a little delayed with our mobile app.

Posted .Hi ElsaV.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell Wired are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have some concerns with the features of the Ring Video Doorbell Wired. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a wired video doorbell that offers 1080p HD video with night vision and two-way audio with noise cancellation. It requires an existing doorbell as a power supply but does not sound your existing chime. To hear audio alerts in your home, you can pair it with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device. You can still get notifications sent to your phone. Check your phone's settings to ensure you have notifications for Ring enabled. If you're still having trouble after you've enabled notifications in your device settings, you may need to check your Motion Zones and Motion Alerts in the Ring app to ensure your device(s) is registering events that would normally trigger notifications. Visit our support center for more information.

Posted .Hi ScottW.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having your Ring Video Doorbell Wired to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Video Doorbell Wired, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

Posted .Hello English,
We appreciate you reaching out to us by leaving a review. We fully understand the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
Based on your review it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Video Doorbell Wired picking up correct motion. The Ring Doorbell sees the world is through a network of PIR or "Passive Infrared" motion sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. If this is the case, we recommend you to adjust your current set motion zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert. Please see our help center article for more information: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055751631-Using-Motion-Zones-with-your-Video-Doorbell-Wired.

Posted .Hello Riki,
We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security. Your Ring Doorbell Wired is intended to provide this for you. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a resolution in a timely manner.
If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view, but your recordings are fine, this can be caused by either a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud servers, or a connectivity problem between the Ring device and your router. In rare cases, however, this can be caused by settings in your router.
One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. You may run a special connectivity test at any time to see if a bad wifi connection is responsible for problems with your device. We have included step by step instructions below:
-Open Ring app
-Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
-Select Devices
-Select a Ring device
-Select Device Health
-Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section
-Tap "Start test
-Once the test is done, Enter your Results from the Speed test
Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device.
Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.
Thank you,
Antonio from Ring

Never Ring. No 2FA.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring refuses to allow you to opt out of 2FA. I don't need it for a doorbell that sees what anyone on my street can see. Now the camera view is tinted red, a hardware problem. Ring made it so difficult to sign in I am quitting Ring and going to Wyze. I paid Ring for a subscription and will probably get no pro rata refund. I already have 9 Wyze cameras so I know they have quality products.

We recognize how important it is for your Ring Video Doorbell Wired to function consistently and reliably, allowing you to monitor activity in and around your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell Wired are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concerns mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have some concerns regarding the security of your account and the video quality you are experiencing from your Ring device.
Two-Step Verification is a mandatory, enhanced security feature that helps keep your account secure and prevents unauthorized users from gaining access to your Ring account. With every new login to your Ring account, you will receive a six-digit code to verify your login attempt. That one-time code needs to be entered within ten minutes before you can access your Ring account. If you are already logged into your account (in the Ring app, for instance), you will not be asked to enter a code. If you log in to your account from another device, you will be asked to enter a verification code.
The color night vision toggle in your Ring App will enable your Ring device to use ambient light to create false color images in Live View. Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a "false color" image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what's happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth. If you do not like this feature, you can turn it on in the Ring app.
