Never Ring. No 2FA.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring refuses to allow you to opt out of 2FA. I don't need it for a doorbell that sees what anyone on my street can see. Now the camera view is tinted red, a hardware problem. Ring made it so difficult to sign in I am quitting Ring and going to Wyze. I paid Ring for a subscription and will probably get no pro rata refund. I already have 9 Wyze cameras so I know they have quality products.

Posted .Hi JH01.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
We recognize how important it is for your Ring Video Doorbell Wired to function consistently and reliably, allowing you to monitor activity in and around your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Video Doorbell Wired are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concerns mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have some concerns regarding the security of your account and the video quality you are experiencing from your Ring device.
Two-Step Verification is a mandatory, enhanced security feature that helps keep your account secure and prevents unauthorized users from gaining access to your Ring account. With every new login to your Ring account, you will receive a six-digit code to verify your login attempt. That one-time code needs to be entered within ten minutes before you can access your Ring account. If you are already logged into your account (in the Ring app, for instance), you will not be asked to enter a code. If you log in to your account from another device, you will be asked to enter a verification code.
The color night vision toggle in your Ring App will enable your Ring device to use ambient light to create false color images in Live View. Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a "false color" image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what's happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth. If you do not like this feature, you can turn it on in the Ring app.

Thank you for sharing your concern. The Ring video Doorbell Wired is a hardwired device that would require wiring where you plan on installing it to power it up. https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054984332-Installing-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Wired. If you do not have wires where you want to install it, you could use our Plug-In Adapter (2nd Generation) to power up the Doorbell. https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-plugin-adapter-gen-2.

Posted .Hello 1HumbleOfferings,
We appreciate you reaching out to us by leaving a review. We fully understand the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
Based on your review it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Video Doorbell Wired picking up correct motion. The Ring Doorbell sees the world is through a network of PIR or "Passive Infrared" motion sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. If this is the case, we recommend you to adjust your current set motion zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert. Please see our help center article for more information: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055751631-Using-Motion-Zones-with-your-Video-Doorbell-Wired.
