The setup process is intended to be seamless and easy when pairing the Ring device to the Ring app. Our app is compatible with Android operating system 6.0 and newer. It is also compatible with IOS operating systems 12.0 and newer. If you are unable to install the Ring app on your device, we would recommend that you visit your devices' software update settings and update to the latest operating system available. Also, did you ensure that Bluetooth was enabled during the setup process?

    When power goes off, you have problems

    I have installed several rings and I have been a advocate of installing for so many friends and family. However, the hard wire model is just not trustworthy. When power goes off even a slightly, you will need to manually reinstall to WiFi. It will keep making an annoying notification tone until reset. Bad design!

    No security screw.

    Terrible customer service

    If you purchase a house with this pre-installed and the previous owners don't unregister their account you are SOL unless you can get in touch with them to beg them to unregister it. I called their support line per the instructions on what to do if the previous owners didn't unregister, and that is literally what they told me. Nevermind the fact that it's a security risk and this thing is already installed in MY house and was part of the as-is condition, and I cannot get in touch with the previous owners. This information needs to be listed in the user manual and online so we dont have to waste time calling. Now I have to rip this thing out of my exterior wall and throw $160 in the trash, when there SHOULD be a way to simply unregister it/factory reset. I will never purchase anything from this company.

      We appreciate your feedback regarding the device ownership experience you encountered with your new home's Ring Doorbell Wired. We are constantly pushing ourselves to develop products to empower users with an affordable, effective way to monitor and secure their home. When you try to set up a device that’s registered to a previous owner, an automatic email will be generated to the previous owner instructing them how to remove the Ring device. While this email delivery is immediate, it can take previous owners some time before removing the device from their account. Rest assured, we're here to provide you with solutions to resolve your concern.

      Based on your review, the previous owner must remove the devices individually within their Ring app. Once they have removed the devices, and the previous wifi network has been disconnected, then the device is ready to be setup on the new account. Deleting the Ring app, or canceling the Ring Protect Plan does not release ownership of the devices. Then you may download the Ring app, create your own account and reinstall the devices on the new account using a mobile device.       It sounds like you are having trouble connecting your Ring Video Doorbell Wired to your home's wifi network. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. If you're having a problem setting up your device in the Ring app, it's possible you are experiencing a problem with your internet connection. This can take two forms:

      Your internet is not communicating with the Ring app at all.
      Your internet connection is too slow to provide a decent signal to your Ring device.

      If your internet seems to be working, you may have a problem with your internet speed. We recommend running a speed test to determine if your internet speed is fast enough to support your Ring device. If either your upload or download speeds are below 2 Mbps, your internet may be too slow to support your Ring device.

    Motion Sensing is inconsistent

    Worked ok at first then randomly started missing motion events it should have picked up. The App confirms Wifi connection and all motion settings are full strength but it will randomly miss cars parking in front of my driveway and wont record anything for hour at a time. Basically useless.

This is likely the reason you purchased this security device in the first place: to be alerted to people on your property. We want to work with you to make sure we get this feature working as intended. We are confident we can resolve this together today.

      It sounds like you have some concerns with the motion detection of your device. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired offers advanced motion detection. This allows you to set up customizable camera motion zones for more accurate motion detection. It also reduces the number of unwanted motion alerts, so you can capture only what matters most. Follow these tips to optimize your camera motion zones:

      Make your Ring device's view as clear as possible. Motion detection can sometimes trigger "false" alerts because of moving trees, lightning, the rising or setting sun, reflections off a shiny object, headlights, shadows, and more. To reduce false alerts, adjust your Motion Zones, remove shiny objects, cut back tree branches that create moving shadows, or angle your device to avoid the sun.

    A review to BEST BUY not the product

    Hi, long time Best Buy supporter and former employee here. This product looks amazing and I can't wait to use it once it gets here... from Amazon. The biggest reason why your physical stores still exist is to have the product in house for the consumer to purchase that day and use that day. If your stores aren't able to do this then you are missing a big portion of what could be your business. On top of that, Amazon is able to ship it to me faster. I wish I didn't have to leave this note on here, but there is no "leave us a tip" section.

To setup the Doorbell Wired, download the Ring app and follow along, as the instructions are in the Ring app. If you chose to not hardwired this device, you can use the Plug-In Adapter Gen 2 to power it.     This model does not ring my inside wired existing doorbell. It only rings my iPhone. Your outsourced agent expects me to know the correct sku, which I need technical help

      It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. At this time, the Ring Video Doorbell is not compatible with existing in-home chimes. We recommend using the Ring Chime with your Ring Video Doorbell Wired. When plugged into a standard wall socket, the Ring Chime produces an audio signal whenever you receive an alert from a Ring device for motion and doorbell announcements. Simply plug it in to a power outlet, set it up in the Ring app, and you'll be able to hear alerts from your Ring devices at home.
