I can’t believe I wanted this long to purchase the ring doorbell. This is an excellent value for both items. I like the wired version, don’t have to worry about batteries. Another excellent feature is the syncing with my Alexa devices. I feel much more secure with these items. If you’re on the fence, take the plunge, you won’t be disappointed!

I was excited to enhance my home security system, especially since my Ring Doorbell works perfectly. However, the installation process for the Chime has been incredibly frustrating. Despite following all the recommended steps from Ring Support—resetting the Chime, restarting my Wi-Fi, and even routing my Wi-Fi ports to ensure compatibility—I still cannot get the Chime to connect. I’ve attempted everything suggested, yet the device continues to fail during setup, displaying persistent error messages. While I appreciate the functionality of my Ring Doorbell, the Chime has been a major disappointment. I expected a seamless integration, but this has turned into a lengthy hassle. I hope Ring can improve the setup process for their Chime devices in the future. If you’re considering purchasing the Ring Chime, be prepared for potential installation difficulties, even if you have a well-functioning Ring Doorbell.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Since you've already reset the Chime, restarted your Wi-Fi, and configured your router ports, but the Chime still won't connect, there are a few additional things we can check. First, verify that the Chime is showing the correct light pattern during startup. You should see the light flashing when you plug it in, which indicates it's ready for setup. Make sure you're keeping your mobile device close to the Chime throughout the entire setup process, as distance can cause connection issues. Also confirm that your Ring app and mobile device are fully updated to the latest versions, as outdated software can prevent successful setup.
If you continue experiencing connection issues after the factory reset and have confirmed all the basics are correct, this may indicate a hardware issue with the Chime itself. Just be sure to check your voltage to see if it’ll comply with your existing doorbell transformer. Otherwise so far I love this product. I canceled my vivint account because this doorbell camera was a great price and there is $0 monthly fee.

First Video Doorbell

We get peace of mind from the app notifications when we are home or away.Video is crystal clear in daylight and legible at night.Our wifi garage door seamlessly connected with the ring app.My only gripe about the product was the included instructions that applied to multiple models of the doorbell and not specific to the one in the box. Also extra parts were included that did not apply to my particular installation.
