Minimum voltage specs incorrect

The minimum voltage for this doorbell is inaccurate. I tested the voltage on my transformer before I purchased this. I bought this older generation unit on purpose because it required a lower minimum voltage as compared to the newer units. It doesn't work! It will not complete the setup and says I now need to upgrade my transformer. Had I known that I would have never bought this unit, replaced my transformer first, then bought a better quality unit. This purchase was a waste of money.

We are saddened to hear that the set up could not be completed with your current transformer. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10–24 VAC, 40 VA max, and 50–60 Hz for continuous charging. If the transformer cannot consistently supply power within that range, the setup may fail or the device may not function correctly.

Was easy to install. Many variables on the ring settings to choose. Would recommend getting the basic recording service but can be used without to see who is at your door.

Got it for my parents who are older and have a hard time getting up and down stairs to answer the door. They can see who it is and talk to them without getting up. Downside you have to pay for a subscription and plan.

That has yet to happen - Geed Squad weren't willing to install because it required electrical work. fortunately, out gate has 16v and this unit is 16v, so hopefully it works well when we get it installed.

We tested to see if it worked 18 miles away and it did. The next test is to test at a further distance.

With so much going on, i had to purchase to make sure my family are ok. Too many stolen packages in my area and late/null deliveries. Setup was easy. Even though it's wired just follow the instructions or watch a video. Definitely recommend for peace of mind.

I replaced my old door bell with this myself and it only to took me about 45 minutes. So worth it we live in a rural area and its nice to be aware of who is coming to mr door.
