It has a small transfer area to empty. Best Buy shuffling me to different people because it over a month old (37 days old).

If you have a floor with only one type of surface and is regularly shaped and not terribly busy with furniture and things, maybe this is for you, but did my home with lots of different rugs and things, it was a disaster. It chewed up the fringe on several rugs and generally did a lousy job both on the hard floor and the carpet.

May I suggest you switch cleaning mode to MAX, put some cereals or biscuits on a light-colored hardwood floor to see if it could collect most of them? If it couldn't, could you please contact our support team for further help? Please send us a video to show the clean process. It can help us figure out the problem and give you a proper solution.

It was actually more work to maintain the robot so it could work properly. I might as well do it myself back to the drawing board. It’s for a small one bedroom apartment, even then you still have to deal with the above.

To address the issues you're experiencing with the S8 MaxV Ultra, please follow these steps:
1. Mopping Function:
- Check the mop cloth condition and replace it if it's heavily soiled.
- Set the mop washing mode to 'Deep mop washing' and increase the Mop Wash Frequency in Settings > Dock Settings > Wash Mode.
- Adjust the Scrub Intensity and Water Flow in the app for better cleaning performance.
- Add Roborock cleaning solution to the water tank according to the recommended dilution ratio.
If the issue persists, please send us a video showing the robot’s behavior before and after mopping, as well as the condition of the floor.
2. Mapping System:
- Unplug the dock and then plug it back in to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Ensure that the front camera, rear light, and location beacon are not obstructed.
- Delete the current map in the app and start the robot from the dock to reset the map.
- Test the Return-to-Dock Function by starting cleaning from the dock, running the robot a short distance, and then pressing the “Recharge” button in the app to see if it returns to the dock successfully.
If the problem continues, please provide a screenshot of the cleaning history map showing the route when the issue occurred.
3. Device Disorientation:
- Check the LDS (LiDAR) sensor on the top for any obstructions and ensure it rotates normally.
- Remove any protective film or stickers from the top cover.
- Clean all sensors with a soft, dry cloth.
- Inspect main components for damage and check the main wheels for smooth operation.
- Test the robot on different floor types to see if the issue is floor-specific.
If the issue remains, please send us a screenshot of the cleaning history map and a video showing the robot’s abnormal movement.
