The audio from the earphones is good. I can’t speak on behalf of the microphone because it was incompatible with my computer. I contacted ROCCAT support and no luck. Every time my computer picked up Mic input from the headset it would malfunction and disconnect repeatedly from the USB.

It's ok. I was in a hurry when I bought it. Had I realized the mic is detachable I wouldn't have bought it. The sound cancellation is really good. I gave the review an extra star because of it.

so i got this along with a keyboard and mouse from ROCCAT and i love all of the gear. they work great as well with the software. first cons. as well as main reason for a 4 star from me. the mic quality is low. it works, but not the best. i would have loved to see the mic use a raise to mute, and move out of way from lifting it. if i am eating, i dont want to have to unplug the mic. etc. also i would love to have had a button on the mic where it plugs into the headset at to mute. the mute button is on the back and kinda high up. so not always easy to quickly mute. buttons, it would be nice to have maybe a equalizer button, and maybe even one that cycles thru the voice changers, as well as turn that off. those easily could have been placed on the right side. the software is great and i love it. but a few things. i would have loved to have a sync lighting button. like if i set to a solid color like orange, allow me then to click sync all devices so that they all then change to that color. the voice changer, its great but your limited to 4 voices and then your own. issue is that there is a monster voice and male voice. both sound very similar. and then a female voice, which sounds similar to the cartoon voice and does not work all that well. and then it can also be hard to understand like in the cartoon voice and what not. its fun to use when playing online with random players. would be nice though to have more options. like maybe a caster voice, etc. and for me, the mic monitor is quiet. not to big a deal, i just went to sound settings, then to the mic properties and selected to listen to this device and selected the headset. i like it loud to hear it so when i am gaming if wife needs something i can hear your thru the mic. ok, now for the cons. they fit great. the head band part self adjust and works well. have worn for hours. many options for setting EQ, you can select from a list of options like FPS mode, or set it yourself. the 7.1 surround sound is great. i have a hard time hearing (90% loss in left and 50% in right), and i have a harder time knowing direction. these worked well and a lot of times i was able to know about where someone was. the cord, super long. at least compared to other headset i have. and again, the lighting if you like RGB is great. overall please with this headset. yeah the mic could be better, but being that its a 3.5mm jack, and it can be unplugged, they can probably come out with a better quality mic. but it works ok.

I'm pretty impressed with this headset. Long story short, it's very comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions and the sound quality is better than expected at this price point. I was able to hear more details than I thought I was going to. The headset is wired which is fine for me because I'm sitting down at my desk gaming anyway. I like that it lights up, it brings a little extra glow to the space I'm in. Its nice having sort of a matching set for my system, it adds more of an official feel to my set up.

I have been using the Roccat Helo USB headset for a few days now. I'll start by saying I hadn't really heard of Roccat before I got this headset so didn't know what to expect. Comfort. It's a super comfortable headset. It has a dedicated padded fabric and leather-like band for your head. This makes it super light. The ear cups are well padded and these too have leather-like padding. The Roccat Elo was not too tight and after extended game play today, I haven't had any discomfort that I have experienced with other headsets. On the Roccat headset itself you will find dedicated buttons for mute, as well as volume controls for mic sensitivity and audio. There's a beep to confirm you have muted. The voice and audio controls are a little higher than I would like, but that's personal preference. The microphone is detachable, has plenty of flex. There's no microphone dampener. I found the microphone super sensitive in my tests (it seems it's designed to also play back your voice in the speakers). None of these things are deal breakers, but I did knock off a star. Connectivity is via a braided USB A cable which is a decent length (about 6ft+). The Roccat plugs and plays with windows. The cable is non-detachable. But what you ALL want to know is audio quality. The 7.1 audio is impressive. 7.1 really is the only way to play FPS games. Coupled with the very good noise isolating ear cups and this is a stellar headset. It's probably the best sounding headset I have used at this price point in a LONG time and it also feels premium with the metal, faux leather, etc. To get the best results with the Roccat you need to download the free Swarm software (see link at end). This lets you customize the onboard lights. In my case, it also installed a firmware update on the Roccat Helo. The software lets you switch between 2.0 and 7.1 sound and also adjust the microphone sensitivity. Finally, for best results download the free Roccat Swarm software (here). https://en.roccat.org/Support

Headphones should make the world around you disappear. These do that, and then some. Crystal clear sound is entry stakes on headsets these days. Roccat adds to that 7.1 surround sound implementation that feels like you’re really sitting in the middle of the action. I even felt myself turning my head, thinking the sounds were truly nearby. They sounded equally good with music, movies, or gameplay. A wired connection means not worrying about running out of charge, EVER. It’s still a long cord, allowing you to set up wherever is most comfortable. The cord is a heavy duty braid that should last a long time, even with some abuse from a cat or vacuum cleaner. in addition to hearing others, my voice comes through loud and clear to all those who I'm speaking to. Many background sounds are filtered out allowing your communication with your team. Your own voice is playback through the speakers so you can make sure you're not speaking too loudly or too softly. This is useful when you are listening to music or game sound, so you can always modulate your voice. It's also useful for hearing some natural sounds around you, such as when it's dinner time. The set is very comfortable. I've ended up using it for work meetings in addition to gaming sessions. I've had no complaints leaving them on for several hours at a time. I wear glasses, and they are designed not to pinch my ears, unlike other headphones / headsets I've worn. As part of the AIMO line of components that roccat makes, the outside lighting coordinates with Roccat keyboard and mouse. The same software for the keyboard and mouse lighting effects is used for the headset. This makes it easy to configure a true aesthetic experience across all devices.

ROCCAT Elo 7.1 USB RGB PC Gaming Headset with Surround Sound retails for $69.99. I was blown away on how well these sounded. Built in 7.1 Sound Sound and 50mm drivers for that deep bass. This model is the USB plugin version so there is no need to charge it. The boom mic is detachable and kinda small so don't lose it. The master volume and the chat volume dials are built onto one of the ear cups. They feel very comfortable and are light weight.

Comfortable Headset, Great Mic, Mediocre Sound

After using these headphones for a week I'm left with mixed feelings. On one hand they are very comfortable to wear. They have a great microphone which sounds crystal clear to people on the receiving end and they include some premium features like surround sound and RGB lighting . On the other hand the sound quality, at best, is mediocre. The 50MM driver does get loud, the surround sound is noticeable, however, the bass is almost nonexistent. Even after I went into the software to crank up the bass and tune the headphones I still wasn't satisfied with the sound. With all that being said, If you are looking for an affordable, comfortable headset with a great microphone these might be for you. If you are looking for top notch sound, you may want to look elsewhere.

    Solid Wire Headsets from Roccat

The Roccat ELO 7.1 USB headsets are a solid offering from Roccat. Roccat has a solid gaming peripheral pedigree and were recently acquired by Turtle Beach who is well known for their gaming headsets and Audio systems. Unfortunately this headset isn’t on par with some of the higher end offerings from either company, but it is affordable and comfortable while delivering solid performance. The headset is light and comfortable and features a spring cushioned headrest with solid wire frame suspension above the head. The ear cushions are also very comfortable overall. In terms of RGB, there’s not too much bling with just the ear pads featuring illumination. There’s also a microphone that works as you would expect. Like most headsets, in order to make the most of the positional sound, you will need to install the Roccat software. Overall this is a solid headset if you are OK with wired for your favorite gamer or for yourself.
