Appletv says it isn't a good enough cable, but it works 4k on the receiver (netflix and the like) so I suspect Apple is stupid on this issue. Very expensive ...

Absolutely no improvement noticeable and expensive. Maybe if you have an oled it makes a difference but not on the 7000 series Samsung 4k. The Spectrum one they give you for free works just as good.
