This product is an absolute disappointment. I’m going to Home Depot to get equipment for this project instead. I don’t know why best buy would sell such an awful item.

The collars provided (2 sizes) are too large for in wall speaker wire. I returned the banana plugs since they won’t work with my speaker wire.

I cannot comprehend the confounding design.

For such a simple concept, these miss the mark in every way. They come with a valve like device that is meant to fasten around the speaker wire from within the banana plug that is hard to get set appropriately and then doesn't really create a snug fit.

Not Worth the Hassle

My assumption is, these are made for thicker speaker wire, not the type of speaker wire that comes with a surround system. I was not able to get the wires to stay in the plug. Any time I had to move my amplifier, the speaker wires would come out of the plug.

I was using 14awg wire with a jacket holding both wires inside rated for in wall use. Would probably work with normal speaker wire

Find a better banana plug at a True Audio Shop

Compared to many banana plugs, they are twice the price and provide no better contact. In fact, the contact is weak and the plugs often fall out of the speaker inputs.

The wire would just not stay connected. That's too bad because banana plugs are generally easy to use. But not this one.

I ended up using the bare wire in place of the plugs while I wait for the open screw-type plugs to arrive. Best Buy should discontinue selling these plugs, down the existing inventory and sell open strew plugs instead. There are still customers who want traditional AV home theater receivers and speakers. These banana plugs is a terrible frustrating disservice to those customers.
