I tried to hook this item into the DVD player and the tv, it would not go in all the way on either.

Did not work with the speaker i purchased, even though the best buy employee told me it would!

Great quality optical cable. Easy to use and sound quality is excellent. Be sure that 4' is adequate for your needs, as other sizes are available.

Somehow it doesn't plug into the optical plug on the tv. I didn't want to force it

Buy Monster instead. Why buy cheap parts when you can buy Monster?

Only lasted for about 3 weeks , upgraded stereo instead

It seems difficult to review a cable. One would think it either works or it doesn't. This is not quite true. In the past, I have found some cables don't transmit data as well as others. This one works great. It seems to pass data flawlessly giving me outstanding sound. It was recommended to me by the Best Buy associate and I recommend it to all of you.

Recently purchased a new TV that didn't have the right hookups for my surround sound system. I purchased this because both the TV and surround sound system had this hookup. After purchasing and installing this cable I quickly learned that I should have been using this all along. The sound is greatly improved and much more clear. Pro: The cable is easy to install and requires no other setup. Simple plug and play. Cons: Wish the plastic cable plugs for the tips were attached so if I move or detach the cable I have something to protect it. The plastic tips are simply removable and not easily stored. Other then that its a tad bit pricey but I think most items from this brand are, still worth the purchase.

My biggest problem is that there are no instructions with these cables. I never used them before, & tried to connect the cable to a TV with no success. I even brought the cable back, & it took 5 minutes for a Geek Squad agent in the store to discover that there were plastic covers on both ends of the cables. Somebody, please, put some instructions on the box.

I was hesitant to use the cables that came with my sound bar, so I went to Best Buy to consult with a salesperson in their electronics department. The young man I spoke with was very knowledgeable and explained to me the differences in all of the cables that could be used to hook up a sound bar. He recommended the fiber optic cables if my TV was one with a fiber optic port. I wasn't sure about that so I purchased this cable along with an HDMI cable, which I knew would work. The fiber optic cable is the one I use. It was easy to connect and produces good sound for all of my electronic devices. Very happy with this purchase.

After years of using analog RCA audio cables, I finally took the plunge and switched to a digital optical cable for my dvd player. The difference in the audio signal was as plain as night and day! The audio sound much more clearer and crisp especially when watching DVD movies and listening to audio CDs.

The bluetooth option on my soundbar had a annoying lag so I bought this. Sound quality is better than bluetooth. REMEMBER to remove the rubber tips. It took me awhile to figure that out.

Bought this cable in August 2013 to connect my stereo system to my TV. No issues with connectivity or sound. Woks very well, have used it since then.

This gets the job done if an optical cable is needed. We didn't have any issues with it.

Not a lot to say but it's a good cable at a good price

Once I found out that the bulb on the end of the cord is not an optical component but actually a rubber protective cap (which I found out after talking to 4 different reps at Best Buy). I ruined one of my optical jacks on my surround sound receiver trying to jam it in. Thank goodness I didn't ruin the one on my new plasma. The first 3 reps said it should just plug in. I was encouraged to push harder and the thing kept falling out. The fourth rep asked me if I had removed the rubber cap. D'oh! I didn't want to touch it because I thought it was an optical bulb. There were no instructions, so how was I to know. The caps on the HDMI cables are much more obvious.

Made my sound bar even better. just install and done.
