And then there was sweet music!

After many attempts, I returned to Best Buy and asked someone in the TV and sound department , what is going on!!! Turns out there was a protective cap over the ends that had to removed . Went home and removed the caps , plugged in both sides....... and then there was sweet music!!!! Silly me!!! Thanks Best Buy !!!!

Does what you would expect

I was concerned that it doesn't "snap or lock" in to place as you would expect from an other type of cable. After talking to a few other people, that is normal for optical audio cables. Audio from my tv to sound at works as expected and I am happy with this purchase.

TosLink/SPDIF cable

I needed a digital optical cable that was stout as our soundbar is an open area. Plugged in, while not snugly as I had hoped, the Rocketfish optical cable does the job I need with minimal issue.

Audio to my home theater system on my old Samsung worked fine with HDMI and Anynet but audio to my home theater system on my new Samsung would not work with HDMI and Anynet so this seemed liked the simplest solution. Audio is better with HDMI than digital optical audio.
