did not have one at home so geek squad had one in his truck they installed it if you buy a smart tv it is a must to have the geek squad install

It's an optical cable; it is what it is. Cables are a difficult buy in store, simply because they're usually way too expensive. I won't say this is an exception to that, but it definitely could be worse.

I purchased this cable by recommendation of the Best Buy sales rep who said the quality would be better than the cable supplied with my sound bar set. The Vizio TV input location did not accept this cable. It was like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. I returned the cable. FYI, the optical cable supplied with my Vizio sound bar works just fine. I was afraid there might be some lag between voice and lip movement on the screen, but it has not been a problem what so ever.

This cable worked well and is obviously well constructed. I had to return it because it was not long enough for my application. Had it been 6 foot instead of 4 foot, it would have been very happy with it.

The sound bar I purchased came with a dinky little cable that would have worked just fine but I wanted the ultimate performance and got it!!

Like the saying goes, "bottom line is, you get what you pay for." I could've purchase this type of optical cable at many different retailers, but I can definitely tell the quality of this optical cable is significantly better than the cheaper ones I came across at many different retailers...hence why I paid about $6 - $10 more for this one.
