Not really sure where you would need an 8' HDMI cable "in-wall" but I just use it for a game console so that doesn't matter. Seems to be bi-directional. I thought they started making HDMI cables uni-directional (meaning one end is intended to go "from" a device and the other end is "to" the TV). Anyway, this cable is a fine choice for the price and it came with a multi outlet surge protector strip!

They connect very well and have plenty of flexibility to wrap around and under and through obstacles. When I purchased them I wanted cables that were of a heavy tough construction and looked very nice. These particular cables fit the bill. One of the best parts is when I was looking I noticed that they were also on sale which really made them a great value. Win win for me.
