Adding the HDMI cable was an excellent upgrade to our viewing. We noticed immediately that our streaming devices are running much faster with less glitches and no buffering time.

I found out that an optical cable came with it and that it worked just as well so I returned this without actually using it so I don't have a good review for it.

When I purchased my 4K TV and 4K DVD player the standard HDMI was no longer an option for the higher resolution throughput and I had to upgrade (bought it when I got the player, just in case...can always return it if unneeded). I can't complain about anything other than the price, that's where they get you (any retailer)....but happy overall.
