I'm an electrical engineer, and was told the more expensive speaker wire was just "better." I measured resistance and voltage between both sets of cables, and these are top-notch. I'd only recommend the high-end cables if you're buying $10K+ speakers. Otherwise, these wires were more than enough to fuel my $20K 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos system.
