    16 gauge wire is ok for a low power system. If you are putting 200W into a 4 ohm speaker, though, that 50 amps needs a larger gauge wire, or the you will get losses and warm (or even hot) wire. Also, the insulation on the conductors does not clearly differentiate the conductors, so you need to be careful to get the correct connections and not get them crossed. That could be a problem, especially with powered speakers.
