OKAY, I GUESS BUT I ENDED UP NOT NEEDING IT

I truly think some of the GEEK Squad needs to go back to school! Not my only issue with them!

But we use an AV receiver to control the sound coming from the cable box and Blu-ray - we needed something to bring the sound from the TV/Netflix to the AV receiver so we could listen to movies using our speakers. The cable does the job - the sound is equivalent to what we get using HDMI cables and the other equipment.
