For those that are purchasing this for the first time there is a small opaque cap on the end. Some people do not realize this needs to come off; if its on there.

Great optical cable!

A best buy employee recommended we purchase this to go with our new sound bar and my what a difference it made! We initially tried the sound bar without this extra purchase because we considered returning it if we thought the sound bar sounded good. The sound bar did have good sound before but we thought we would try it before returning it, the sound is GREAT now! Happy we purchased this!

Cable that does the job
