This unit wasn't able to receive the signal unless I was within about 15 feet in straight line of sight. Hell, if I had to be that close, I might as well get up and change the music. Worthless.

Bluetooth has a short range by default, is not made for long distance controlling. Specially outdoors when other signals can get mixed up.

I have used a rocket fish river speaker wireless module for 15 years. It performed flawlessly. I returned this because when I would get 20 feet from my a.m. trailer it was for cutting out. I would not recommend this Bluetooth receiver.
