The banana plug did not provide a tight connection for the wires. I returned product to the store.

The wires fall out any time you have to unplug or move the system. I would not recommend this setup.

    Convenience in using banana plugs

Well, I have these on 3 speakers so far and intend to buy 2 more sets for rear speakers. They are easier to set up with the speaker wire than comparable monter. I bought some monster plugs after using Rocket Fish, once out in my car I took a closer look at the monster plugs and did not like the way the wire would connect inside. So I took them back inside the store and exchanged for the Rocket Fish. Also, using banana plugs in my situation made it easier to plug into the receiver where it is located, deep into a media center with a panel on the back.

7 yrs later, still working great. I've added speakers and bought new plugs for them, same quality sound as older ones and I expect they'll last me years to come

    Great Connectors for Speaker Wire

Very easy to install, no wire stripping. Solid connections and makes switching around speakers wires on my home theater receiver a breeze. No loose connections as other reviewers have claimed. Sounds like user error rather than product as I tested each wire after I installed each plug and both were strongly secured. Only complaint is the price is a little steep.

Not as good as they used to be

I bought one set of these to see how well they worked when I was a poor graduate student (about a year ago), and they were fantastic. However, I couldn't afford to buy all 5 sets I needed at that time. I recently purchased 4 more sets to complete my 5.1 setup and I was substantially disappointed that the design has been cheapened -- the price is the same though. The old design pinched the stripped speaker wire between two pieces of gold plated metal to hold them in place. The new design uses these cheap plastic collars that go around the wire insulation to hold them in place. I was rearranging my system just the other day and one of them slipped a little bit and had to be redone. Basically, they work. The connection seems good. But they don’t hold very well at all. I wish I had spent the extra money on the Monster brand. It's only a value if it is comparably good and these new ones are not. Incidentally, the Monster connectors that Best Buy now carries have also changed in the recent past, and they now work just like the old Rocketfish design, which was FANTASTIC.

    They get the job done...

Been using these for about 2 years. Switching out one receiver for another I've found ALL the connections have come loose. Not at the plug itself (they are tight) but they have unscrewed/loosened at the cable. Every one of them. No effect on performance but it could have become an issue unchecked. I don't know how many of you go poking around the back side of your receiver or speakers at any given interval but it's something to watch out for. Aside from that they transfer the signal, connect easily and work very well. I was perfectly happy with the old style spring loaded style of connector on the back of receivers and speakers. These satisfy something that wasn't needed in the first place. My Onkyo forced me to use these...and they work. Just wouldn't have gone this route otherwise...

    A bit pricey...

Yes they are more expensive than the rest. Really easy to install. Just strip your wire about 1/4 of an inch. Insert and fold the wire down around the inside. I think it kind of resembles a spider. Screw the tip back on and you're done! They hold really tight on to the wire and fit very snug into my receiver and speakers.

These clips were pretty easy to install, however I had a smaller speaker wire and think these would be ideal for 16ga wire.

recently I bought a ,mini system, and decided on banana plugs. I dedcided to purchase these. The leanng curve was short and easy but the installation did take a few mniutes, after the first plug was connected to the wire, (no stripping), the rest were easier, but I lost one of the rubber compressors for the 16-18 adapters of the rocketfish. My remedy was to place the 12 gauge compressor, which is plastic compared to the 16 gauge. After a few days the left speaker audio went dead, becuase the 12 gauge compressor hole was too big for the 16 gauge speaker wires. I wished the item came with extra compressors. Anyway I give this 5 stars! Warning don't open the package unless your near your stereo and speaker wires. while searching for that extra compressor I thought I found it but they were just dead bedbugs, 16 gauge comprssors are black and about the size of bedbugs!

    Solved the Problem

I have been using the screw or clamp down method for attaching my speaker wire to my receiver for many years. I finally decided to give banana plugs a shot and I was very pleased with these. Although I think that cost is a bit high, they worked very well and were very simple to install and use. Thus far I am very satisfied with this product.

These Rocketfish speaker plugs work as advertised. I attached these to 16 gauge speaker cable. No wire stripping required though I was a little skeptical. It really does work. It took a bit of time for me anyway to put the little black collar over the speaker cable.

    These BANANA Plugs Have A-PEEL

These were a bit more expensive than some of the other products available at Best Buy; I chose them because they appeared to be more sturdy than the others. It was breeze to install the plugs at the end of my speaker cable; with in just a few minutes all seven speakers were good to go. Once installed connecting the cable to the tuner was much easier than attempting to attach the bare wire to to the posts.

Not easy to use. The center pin is a poor substitute to a screw-in type banana plug. The wire that came with my speakers keeps falling off. It would have been useful for the company to have a video on how to use the product either in their website or youtube. However, it is a well made item and looks good.

I have been stripping wire for years, but now that I have tried the Rocketfish Banana Plugs, I won't go back to old way of doing things. These plugs are easy to use and have worked flawlessly for me. I would recommend using Banana Plugs for all of your speaker connections!
