A: Banana plugs are only to be used to connect bare speaker wire to the back of some stereos. They will not allow you to connect speaker wire to any other type of cable, you would need an adapter.
Q: Can banana plugs be used with older "spring" type speaker connections?
A: I would have to say in most cases No
Q: Can I use these on Outdoor speakers.
A: I am using these plugs on a system for a covered patio deck. Working fine. Take caution anytime you mix water with electricity tho.
A: If you have 2 speaker connections for the same speaker then they should also fit into your avr with the same color connections...however...if speaker you are connecting from only has one speaker connection then that is a different story. Keep in mind, usually the black wire or striped black wire is negative but most importantly remember to match same colors on speaker and avr.

A: there is no tv I know of that will take banana plugs
