When placing the switch on the base I would make sure you click down on the base. Don’t just lay it on top. Even when clicked on the base the switch barely charged up.

My experience was very underwhelming with this dock. I read countless reviews saying this works great which makes me wonder what's different here. TL:DR this dock only outputs at 480p no matter what steps I tried to fix/improve it. One of my TVs is a Samsung that is able to output at 4k, the other, a slightly older Sharp TV is also able to output at 4k. When using the OEM Switch dock, I get nice crisp lines on text and menus, games look great because the output is automatically defaulting to 1080p. When using this Rocketfish dock that I was so excited for, I get very low resolution video on both TVs. To be thorough in my tests, I used different HDMI cables on both devices since not all cables are created equal, but it made no difference. These same cables both work at 1080p with the OEM Switch dock. The output looks terrible and I figured out why, but not how to fix it. This dock limits my output at 480p for some reason. To try to change this I can go through the switch's menus to TV settings and in the OEM dock (on both TVs) I can select from 4 options: Automatic, 480p, 720p, and 1080p but on the Rocketfish dock I can only select from two options: Automatic, and 480p. both of which make the image quality worse than what the console looks like on its own, since it has a 720p screen. If there is a fix for this I might consider buying again but as I am unable to get it to work properly I will be returning it. I don't understand how none of the other reviewers had this experience and was surprised when I plugged mine in how poor the output looked.

After six months, no longer plays sound through the TV when the Switch is docked and connected via HDMI. Best Buy products are generally garbage, and this seemed promising for a few months before the problems kicked in. I’m just going to buy another OEM dock and stop trying to make it work to save a few dollars. This thing sucks.

Works as a secondary dock but if I had known about the high pitched sound it makes when in use, would not have purchased at all. The sound is really awful, even makes it just when the console is charging in standby. Can sometimes drown it out, but it's a big nuisance.

Within a few days, this dock (purchased brand new from Best Buy in late July 2020) completely bricked our Switch. Do not trust anything the manufacturer claims about this -- it is not safe and has a chance of permanently ruining your Switch. Don't pay $50+ to ruin your Switch -- do not buy this dock ever.

Purchased today because the original docks HDMI port started going out, got it home and hooked up and immediately the controller lag was extremely noticable. Tried every fix I could find online for the lag, ended up checking the controllers to an undocked switch and it wasn't there. This was the only change made from yesterday when the dock and controllers were working fine. Do not recommend this dock at all

Did not work from day 1. I hooked the device up to two separate tvs, using 2 different hdmi cables and could not get it to display. It did charge my switch console, but would not work as advertised. I would stay away from this product.

This mount Blue Screen of Doomed my original Nintendo Switch. Only use with new devices *maybe* Best practice is to use Nintendo Brand to ensure the safety of the console. Broken heart for the loss of my system and gouge in my wallet for a new one.

I never even write reviews but when I spend almost $400 on a TOTK Switch OLED and it gets bricked in less than 24 hrs after I buy the dock, I’m gonna be upset. Do not buy this product.

Had to return and exchange this because I woke up in the middle of the night to a burning metallic smell, and it was this dock. It had spun up the fans in the middle of the night to full speed and was in the process of frying my Switch. Stick with the real thing if you can!

Dock cuts out constantly with the switch attached. This makes the product unusable. I called customer support and their response was that I need to just buy a new one. Horrible product and horrible customer service.

Does not work and may ruin your Switch. Please do not buy. Read the 1 star reviews! I tried this before reading the reviews because it says it is 4.5 stars. My switch quit working after trying to use this. Stay away from it.

The audio keeps cutting out randomly for a brief period of time. It’s really distracting and annoying. Also, it doesn’t supply enough power to the Switch, so I’m not quite sure how BeatBuy can even sell this junk.

I bought this while it was on sale to connect to our living room TV. It worked for 4 days and then caught on fire. Luckily, we spotted it. Would not recommend!

Messed up on me after 3 weeks, stilled was abke ti return but i rarely used and the doc got burnt out…
