Fantastic for pet owners
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is THE BEST vacuum I have ever owned! This pulls up all the dirt and hair without having to go over and over the same spot! I am always amazed (and horrified at the same time!) by how much dirt and pet hair it gets up, without damaging your carpets! I HIGHLY recommend this vacuum for pet owners! Easy to use, lightweight, with many useful attachments! AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!!!!

Mediocre
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wasn't impressed for what it costs. Suction was mediocre on any hard surface. Did decent on carpeted surfaces. It weighs to much and is to bulky to start. We own the shark rocket and it will run circles around this thing and it's half the size and weight. This model is to expensive for what it produces.

Great Vacuum, minor flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my shark vacuum! My dog is a heavy shedder and this vacuum gets ALL of the fur, dander and dust in my home! I love the multi-floor feature and the hand tools are fabulous for furniture! However, don't stretch the hand tool out too far or the vacuum WILL fall over, hitting you or something else. (Cut my leg this morning). After 6 months of owning this vacuum that is the only complaint I have.

Wonderful Vacuum for Pet Owners
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best vacuum I have ever had. Much better than Dyson Animal Ball that I returned. I previously had a Dyson and loved it. However, once my husband "broke" it we had to purchase the new Animal Ball. We got it and the first time I tried to vacuum it clogged with the pet hair...so much for an "animal" vacuum. I gave it some time, but finally after a couple of months of having to unclog the vacuum several times with each cleaning I could not take it any longer. I also felt it was not picking up like it should. I went on line and seen several animal owners had this model and liked it. I could not be happier. I had vacuumed with my Dyson just before taking it back. When I got home I ran the Shark and it filled the canister with deep down hair, dirt, and then of coarse my carpet freshiner. The best vacuum I have had to date!!!

Well worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum has been amazing. Bought in 2016, now 2022 and still running great. Keep your filters clean, the roller bar clean and this vacuum will last a long time. Suction is still great. We have a 3900 sq ft house, 2 story, we had to buy a second one to keep one on each floor. These both get used weekly. 4 women with long hair, 2 dogs and a cat And this vacuum keeps my floors clean.

Best Vacuum ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have looked at and viewed numerous reviews of many vacuums. I also checked out Television infomercials regarding the various brands. The Shark is so fabulous. I have carpeting that has never been cleaner once vacuumed, the wooden floors in my bedroom are so much easier to keep clean in addition to being able to see under the bed and dresser that I could not see under before. Love the versatility.

Great, Lightweight, Compact
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for a good, simple to use, not too big vacuum and this fits the bill. Upgraded from a previous Shark and this one works even better. Great suction and flexibility with types of use.

Great...at first. Then? Disappointment.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first bought this vacuum, I was super impressed with how it cleans carpeting. I swear it pulled dirt out of our carpets that the old vacuum just couldn't access. Felt like the carpets were really clean. Tools were great, Vacuum easy to use.... Unfortunately, barely a year and a half later, the brush roller for the vacuum is toast - almost all the bristles have worn off, leaving the vacuum basically useless. For perspective, the brush roller on my last vacuum (same house, same carpets) is still intact after nearly 20 years of use. Shark's response was to send me a replacement whole bottom for the vacuum - but to charge me for it, saying "it's normally $95, but we'll only charge you $51". I have three problems with this. 1. 18 months and it's worn out? Come on. 2. The vacuum isn't designed to allow replacement of the brush roller, without replacing the whole bottom of the vacuum? What engineer thought THAT was a good idea? That's like building a car where you can't replace the tires. 3. How does a 5 year warranty only cover half the cost of replacing this obviously vital part of the vacuum?

Not for folks with physical issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time I use this thing, I swear I'm going to write a review, so today I just have to. I remember the commercial that sold me on this product. A lady breezing around her house happily cleaning everything, I bought this vacuum and all the accessories, very eager to get cleaning! Now I'd like to make my own video. If you have any physical issues, do not buy this vacuum! As an upright it's top heavy and awkward to use. The hose is way too short, and so strong it will fight you all the way and literally pull you back if you stretch it. It also twists which adds to the problem. The cord placement on the side is bizarre. No matter what you are trying to do you will end up tangled in the cord. Speaking of cords, don't run over one, it will suck it up in a heart beat. The powered suction on carpet is great, but not forgiving of inadvertent run-overs. They claim it "never loses suction" but that's BS. Switch to bare floors or attach tools and your probably down to about 40% suction, frankly, it sucks, or rather doesn't suck. So upright was painful for my old body since I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, so I decided to try the "lift away" feature. Nope, it's heavy to carry around and as I said if you have any back or muscle issues you will be in pain. So, lastly I've switched to the "canister" function, and it would be comical if it wasn't so painful. You pull it behind you, while it jams into every corner, your beautiful furniture, or worse, your legs! Because of the rebounding too short hose, when you reach the end of the hose it will literally cause the canister unit to rebound and slam into your backside. Also forget cleaning those vaulted ceilings. There are no extended hard wands. My son bought me the "extended reach" version, what a joke! The hard wand is just as short as any of their others, the "extended part is a soft hose, so you can't extend you reach any farther than your arm can reach with the hard wand. I'm 5' 1" so forget reaching even the top of the drapes. I admit, I bought this because it was half the price of my beloved Dyson, which had just gotten "tired". You get what you pay for... I'm going back to Dyson. It may be too expensive but I don't have to take pain meds to use it.

More work than it is worth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vacuum cleans reasonably well but itself has to be cleaned after every couple of uses. I have one 10 lb dog that sheds; it can take 15 to 20 minutes to clean the vacuum roller every time I use it. Currently I use a small knife, a scissors and a pack of dental tools to try to unclog the roller since it does not come out and is not accessible. The pet attachment also does not release and cannot be cleaned easily. Major design flaws. NOT recommended for anyone with pets.

Shark doesn’t stand behind the warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The vacuums are ok while they last; do not expect them to stand by their warranty though. I purchased a Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away XL a couple of years ago and the flexible hose leading from the brush-roller to the main unit broke. When i called in for warranty repair i was advised the part was not covered under the 7 year warranty and i would have to pay $95 + shipping for the part. This is not acceptable.
