    Worked for 2 years

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this washer and dryer 2 years ago and it worked good for the first year (which is the length of its warranty). After the first year I started getting spontaneous error codes of 4E and DE that would interrupt my wash cycle and throw off my laundry schedule. I have kids, dogs and a husband so this was a huge inconvenience but it wasn’t an every day or week thing at that point. As of 2 days ago I can no longer even get a load of wash to start. As soon as I press the start button it starts beeping at me and flashing the DE error. Buyer beware. This machine is also fairly loud through the entire wash cycle. Seems like others have had better luck than I have but I would never recommend this machine to others.

    Quickly malfunctioned

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I used it 8 times before the washer needed servicing for not draining properly, not spinning properly & a control panel malfunction. Samsung service is the absolute worst! It’s been two weeks since our machine stopped working and the tech that was scheduled to come with parts yesterday, never showed up. Samsung service doesn’t work weekends and there’s no phone customer support on weekends either. The people setting up your service are based in another country, and difficult to communicate with. Since the repair tech never showed up, I’ll have to schedule another appointment, which are always a week out...that’s THREE weeks. I’m certain I’ll never purchase Samsung again, don’t make the same mistake I did purchasing this. Know that should you need service, you will have to fight for it week after week. Paid $1600 total for set, lasted 8 weeks.

Worked great first 2-3 years. Just recently stopped spinning one month after warranty ended. Had technician come by and tried two different part replacements to fix problem. Neither worked and to try one last option would have cost me the entirety of the washer itself. The washer we had before this lasted more than 10 years. This one barely lasted three. DO NOT BUY.

The only good thing about this washer is the capacity. I’ve had to use the heavy duty setting to get my clothes clean and it takes over an hour. Fast forward 5 years and the thing is pausing itself indicating what will probably be a $200 plus repair I’ll have to do myself because no services near me will touch Samsung appliances. Please save your time, money, & sanity! Don't buy the Best Buy protection plan. I have been through this process with a washer twice now, and it is the most frustrating process ever. First time, it took 3 months to get approval for a replacement washer & 3-4 weeks to get a repairmen to the house. (Not to mention the hours, upon hours, of fruitless, frustrating calls, and the endless trips to, & money spent at the laundromat so!). Two years later, and we are once again going through the process. One week in, and still not on any repair shop schedule! Same story every time we call. This shows that our first experience was not a fluke, but likely the norm. I just want to warn others that the plan is not as they make it sound!

Bought to save money on water. Had a Duet before. Purchased on sale. While it definitely uses less water on regular cycle, it does a terrible job on cleaning stains. Not sure if it's the lack of water or the fact that there is no agitator. Buyer's remorse on such a large ticket appliance. Can't wait to get a new one. Dryer is good though.

I've had this washer for just over two years. It has only had light use - maybe a load or two a week at the most. Now the On button won't work, and the 2 yr old washer is dead. I just read a bunch of reviews and REALLY wish I didn't buy this washer. Apparently my washer breaking at two years isn't surprising. My friend bought an old USED washer, when I got mine, and her used $50 washer still works! My 2 yr old $500+ washer is dead and I'm doing laundry at the coin washer place in town!

    What a nightmare

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought my washer from sears in February and it broke down on October 10th. It’s been about two months and Samsung has not fixed my washing machine. Local service provider unsuccessfully tried to fix it two times already. They have already changed motherboard and motor. At one point Samsung rep. told me that they will refund my money and I supplied requested information. But now, Samsung rep. says that they have to try to fix my washing machine one more time before they can process paper work for refund. This mean I will have to live without a washing machine for at least two more weeks. Imagine your life without a washing machine for three months - a nightmare!

    Things it can't do....

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

    1. Washing a normal load: Not enough water is added regardless of the wash setting. A couple of towels mixed with shirts and pants will absorb all of the water. Nothing is washed, nothign is rinsed - all it does is turn over damp clothing. What does Samsung say about this - "It's a new type of washing. Instead of pushing clothes through water we push water through clothes." 2. The spin cycle has trouble balancing any load with a towel or two. Any washing of a blanket causes teh system to reset the wash time over and over and over again while it tries to rebalance the load. No matter what clothes you place in the washer, large or small, NEVER does it finish the wash on the specified time. A 50 minute wash is one hour and 30 minutes due to balancing. A heavy soiled load is over two plus hours - 30+ minutes longer than the machine originally posts to screen. 3. Washing clothes on heavy loads requires you to manually add 4-5 extra gallons of water - otherwise nothing is washed and the soap is never rinsed from the washed items. 4. When the washer is trying to spin it starts to spin, slowly, then stops, pauses, spins slow again, pauses, spins in the other direction slowly, pauses, spins, stops. Shall I go on. Stops, pauses, spins slow again, pauses, spins in the other direction slowly, pauses, spins, stops, etc. It does this for 30 minutes or more before someone comes along and just shuts the washer down to manually wring out the clothes to start the spin cycle over again. 5. Saving water by not using any water is not saving water. I won't even get into the amount of electricity this washer wastes because of these never ending cycles.

I can't believe it took me that long to figure out that the bleach in the dispenser is NOT used to bleach the laundry, but to deodorize the machine... I could, for the longest time, not figure out why my white laundry was not clean enough... well, there you have it. This machine has NO pre-wash... there is a bleach compartment in the dispenser, but the bleach comes in AFTER washing... during rinsing... I NEVER heard of the necessity to add bleach during rinsing.... a mistake on Samsung's part really.... the machine in itself is good, but...

My wife and I bought a new Samsung washer and dryer when we got married. The dryer still works great but the washer is TERRIBLE! It worked great for about a year but then problem after problem has come up. The biggest issue is water leaks out somehow. I have had certified workers come to try and fix it because it was under warranty but after a few months the water leak comes back. I’ve replaced multiple parts on it but nothing will solve the issue. I will never buy a Samsung washer again.
