I also don't like how the settings are limited, for instance if I select a wash cycle, I may not be able to change the soil level, temperature or spin speed.

Only thing I would recommend is do not use smart options (normal cycle) as the washing cycles go on for very long time like 1 hour and 15 mins. Now we use perm press so it reduces the washing cycle to 41 mins. This would spike your energy bills.

That being said, if you unhook the water line and drop a heat gun in the drum, this is also a fantastic spun sugar machine. We've got 50-gallon bags just full of the stuff now for our church's President's Day retreat! Another Grand Slam from Samsung!

Wash cycles are long, but it holds about twice as many clothes as my old washer - so the overall time balances out. It likes to self clean about once a month - so that cuts into wash time if you are not expecting it.

Wash takes too long

The normal wash takes over an hour. I might have to play around more with the settings. Few times the washer paused because it was unbalanced. I like that it plays a jingle when the wash is finished.

Most people over 50 always rant about how washers with agitators are the best. My mom was very impressed with this machine. She also says it was easy to control and use its functions. We had it delivered and the guys were great!! They took care of my mom. Overall great buy!

It doesn't have the agitator in the middle so there's nothing to tangle up straps, etc. I love the little songs it plays when it's done. It's such a happy machine! I've already tried the "self cleaning" feature, too, since we had to run a new water line.

My old washer had a recall and I was suppose to peel some stickers off and I forgot. They were so helpful at the Wearhouse that they got the labels off the old washer and shipped them to me via UPS.
