I had read so many reviews before I purchased so I was concerned. I switched from front loader to top loader and I like the fact that my clothes are soaking in more water and not just tumbling in water. I just hit my first 20 loads and it is telling me to do a self clean. There are no odors or anything like that. I do keep the lid open after my last wash to make sure it is dry before closing the lid. It is di big, I an reluctant to fill it up, but I guess you can.
