    Backlight Went Out - Do Not Buy Samsung

    I bought the Samsung 55" TV and the Backlight went out on it after a year. Just out of warranty and Samsung says "Sorry, nothing we can do". The part to repair the TV costs the same as buying a new one. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG TVs!

    This tv was GORGEOUS in-store. It was the newest out there when I purchased it and came with a "first kid on the block" price tag, if you know what I mean, so I was expecting functionality, as my previous TV pretty much lasted forever (but was a picture tube!). Right after the warranty expired, the left and right sides of the screen became vein-y with white lite...it looked like permanent lightning on the TV and never went away. Also, the TV itself grew HOT when touched. This was literally a month after expiration. I contacted Samsung and frankly, they just wouldn't stand by their product. Not only charging for repair but continually saying it was out of warranty, which was true....but a MONTH? Just here on the Best Buy site there are multiple people that had this TV and had the exact same problem. Someone should bring a class-action suit against Samsung for not only selling faulty equipment, but for also doing NOTHING to aid in it's repair. I'll never buy another product from them again.
