Won't last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this washing machine except for the longevity of some of the parts and the fact that, as an "average" height person, it's hard to get all of the last pieces of clothing out of the bottom of the washer. We bought it in 2016 and come 2023 we had to call service. Luckily I found a local person that was willing to take a look at Samsung washers. I was able to find the broken part on Amazon (lucky) and it was replaced and the washer did fine for 4 months. I think the same part broke so having the repair guy come out again this week. I had purchased 2 of the same part so I'm hoping it's just the same part, but it means the part is not going to last long and I have to start shopping for a new washer. The part is the plastic cog that fits into the spinning mechanism to engage the spinning motor. Why don't washing machines last these days? Of course the manufacturer warranty and extended warranty I purchased is out of date and when I called Samsung to have them check to make sure it wasn't the motor that has a 10 yr. warranty, they informed me that they had no technicians that could come look at it. Samsung customer service isn't great and you'll never get the hours back that you have to spend trying to get in contact with them :(

Large machine / breaks down soon
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this machine when I first bought it and it has been a great cleaning machine. It’s very large and can fit a lot of clothing, in the past 1 1/2 it’s really worn out bad it no longer wrings all the clothes out before drying and is incredibly loud. I guess they don’t make washer to last very long anymore

ENDLESS RINSE CYCLE - 2nd Samsung that's done this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS MACHINE IS GOING BACK! 2 yrs ago We purchased a new Samsung top load that I was never happy with - during large bedding loads the drum rocked all over, making loud noises and was always off balance - which lead to another issue of an endless rinse cycle! it starts to spin, has maybe 11 min left on cycle then stops and starts filling with water again and adds another 8 minutes back to the cycle! gets back to the spin, starts, then fills with water! this never allows for a full heavy spin so you end up having to take half wet items out of the drum to balance it so it will actually complete a spin. Now what do do with your sopping wet laundry?! Again, this is not every time - just when you washed bedding or an odd item like a pillow Finally the recall comes out and I think YES! this is the answer! I couldn't trade that machine in fast enough for this model above. It arrived today and first thing the delivery guy points out is that the sink makes the door top heavy so it won't stay open unless its all the way up and you better know it's gonna stay there or it could come clunking down on your head! The sink is big and bulky and is in the way of the detergent / softener tray. I use pods but if you don't, good luck fussing with that. that sink is a dumb feature. It should have the option to remove it but you can't and I bet you won't see this on future models. for as little as you really have to use it, just use your sink like we have for decades. next thing I do is put this new machine to the test and wash a pillow and 3 blankets. Not a large load especially since it is a 5.2 cu machine - but when the items get wet, they get heavy AND THROW THE MACHINE OFF BALANCE just like the machine I just got rid of. Seriously took about 3 hours to get the laundry out because I walked away to do other things - came back to check the laundry and it was STILL RINSING AND SPINNING, rinsing and spinning. what a waste of water and energy. what good is a 5.2 cu drum if you can't depend on it. Unless you want to sit and watch your laundry, stay away from Samsung - this machine is going back!!!!!

DON'T BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this washer about 5 months ago and i have had nothing but problems. Samsung does not stand by their product and Best Buy will not replace it. Geek Squad has been to my house about 6 tihttps://www.yahoo.com/health/s/here-39-s-how-often-happy-1302800057794614.htmlmes. They have taken it apart and now the washer rattles. Im very disappointed in both Best Buy ans Samsung. Neither company will replace it. They continue to fix it. I never once had manager call me about the problem even though i repeatedly asked for one to return my call. I will never buy or recommend Samsung. Also i will never buy any high priced item from Best Buy because they will not replace it if there us an issue. Very disappointed in both companies. Also, if u buy the extended warranty and they replace the unit, u will lose it once its replaced. I can go on, but it wont make a difference because both companies are shady. Also i posted a review last weekend and it was never posted.

Buyer Beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this washing machine approx. 5 months ago when it came out. It’s a nice washing machine when it works. After a full day of it running while I was gone at work, I took the time to watch a cycle. I realized the washer would start a wash cycle and continue to about half way, display error code 8C, drain without spinning and repeat this until I manually powered it off. Error code 8C is not listed in the manual but Samsung tech support said it was main board memory failure. Samsung should recall this washer. They are going to repair this under warranty, but there is a delay.

Large Capacity but ruins clothes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this washer machine for 3 weeks now. Before purchasing a washer I read the reviews on all sites. This washer machine had the best reviews across the board, so it was a no brainer. I love the many different options and the large capacity was a major plus for me. King size comforters fit perfectly. Before using the washer machine I read through the manual. I followed all the "how to's" & what not to do but still found that my clothes weren't being washed properly. I had to re wash at least 5 loads of clothes. I've tried many different cycle options and still experienced this issue. But the worst thing about it is that its ruined numerous of our clothes & I cannot figure out why. I've had an old washer machine for decades and never had this issue. This is our 1st top load HE washer machine and its not been a great experience at all. I haven't read any reviews where someone else is experiencing this issue so I'm guessing there might be something wrong with ours. Its a beautiful machine, but very disappointing to be having this issue.

Great machine so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still real early but so far machine is performing above expectations. The tub size is great and way more options than you may need, but nice to have them. You can fill detergent and fabric softener easily with the pre-wash basket down so that is really no problem, it is a deep tub so getting things out of the bottom requires more effort than our previous machine, noise is no different than previous machines, I do like the water levels it uses our previous machine was a Samsung front load it put holes in our delicate items, so had extended warranty Best Buy was very helpful in getting exchange for a LG top load it never really got clothes clean but was very gentle on clothes, it developed uneven load issues and warranty company replace everything on it and did not fix issue so we exchanged again Best Buy was wonderful again so now have a Samsung again, after more uses will give a better information review

Save Your Money! LONG, but please read!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would like to start by saying I have NEVER written a negative review for a product before but this washer has frustrated me more than any product or appliance I've ever owned. I have had this machine and matching dryer (dryer is great btw!) for about 3 years. My husband and I admittedly did little research before walking into Best Buy and purchasing the set. I knew I wanted a top loader because I didn't want to deal with mold or issues that front loaders seem to have. This washer appealed to me because it didn't have an agitator (I could fit more in it, yay! My bras wouldn't get twisted and mangled, yay!) had a very large drum, was all digital, energy efficient AND...the pretty silver color sealed the deal! At that time, this was the most expensive set in the store, so I assumed that meant it was fabulous! I loved the washer the first few months but started to notice little things that annoyed me and those little things turned into regular occurrences. After less than 6 months the lightbulbs behind the digital display burned out (this happened on both washer and dryer!) making it nearly impossible to tell where the dial is positioned (or which cycle) how many minutes are left in the cycle or what step in the cycle it's at. Another issue is that the time of the cycles are not accurate in any way, shape or form. If it says 1:20 min (back when I COULD read the display), it will likely take 2 + hours. It will say 37 minutes (or whatever) for 20 minutes. You cannot rely on this if you're in a time crunch. When I load soap or fabric softener in the dispenser, it dribbles out immediately. Which makes me wonder a.) how clean my clothes would get b.) what the point of a dispenser is anyway? Another issue with this, is that the fabric softener can dribble directly onto clothes and stain them. Lastly, because there is no agitator, the drum gets thrown off balance in nearly ever load. It doesn't matter how high (or low) the spin is, how full the washer is or what type of cycle I select, it gets thrown off balance and will make the most ANNOYING dinging noise until you take the clothes out, shuffle them around, and restart. You'll be lucky it happens only once per load...usually I have to do this several times. Forget doing laundry before bed, the dinging will surely wake you up. Lastly, the reason I purchased a washing machine was to clean my clothes. This washer barely cleans anything. Because it is energy efficient it basically mists your clothing. Sometimes my clothes aren't even fully saturated when I take them out. If you have a stain, forget it. If you wash your clothes inside out, expect there to be pet hair, lint or debris still on the clothing. I have other Samsung appliances in my home and love them, this was a giant disappointment. If I could return it, I would. If I could beat it with a sledgehammer, I would. (haha) When I moved into my home there was a "Hot Point" washing machine that looked to be about 15 years old, that machine cleaned my clothes and caused so much less drama than this thing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this machine, it looks pretty and fancy but has poor performance! Man, I feel a little bit better now...gotta run, time to go adjust the clothes in the drum to stop the INCESSANT dinging! :)

Lg washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is very quiet and very efficient. We had a Samsung that died electronically in less than 5 years. It was suppose to adjust for clothes size but never dropped below 57 minutes but this Lg has dropped as low as 26 minutes and clothes look great

Cleaned Clothes Well but Too Noisy and Shaking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was making a very loud, abnormal noise when spinning, and the sound seemed to get worse over a week. I probably had a bad model but I was too scared to try another model for fear of getting another lemon. Given the price it should not have had this issue. I had no problems with the clothes cleaning. I had problems with the installers. To save time they don't always use a leveling tool to level the washer. First time I used it, there was the sound and the machine shook 3/8" on each side. I couldn't move it when still so the shaking when in use bothered me. Another installer came out but didn't bring his leveling tool which I expressly asked for but he adjusted it a bit to reduce the shaking in 1/2. I returned it because I feared it would break down eventually with the noise and shaking and bought a comparable LG model which I am very happy with. You will also notice on the showroom floor you can move the Samsung drum twice as much as an LG drum.

Inside rusts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall has been a great washer, bought as set with dryer. My biggest issue/disappointment is that the inside rim is rusting around 4" on both sides of dispenser. This was purchased Dec 2016, arrived January 2017. This washer would have lasted a lot longer, this is the biggest issue I've had. It is very frustrating to have rust inside your washer.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me start of saying this is unit is a NOT on recall for know if others are my other was we bought was a recalled unit that night I went to my best buy shopping for a washer I wanted a front loader my mother didn't Samsung would give us $150 on a new Samsung washer and $50 on a non Samsung for ourrecalled washer so i went and put ever model and serial number in the Samsung site and the four They had on display were on the list but this model was the only one not on recall when I was looking so I got this washer and it's fully loaded to what we had we really like it we have yet to use all the options on but the sink get used so far we haven't taken the plastic off it yet and I don't want t bc the lid does get scrathes on it very easy like our old one for anyone who is apart of the Samsung recalled go to the store and put every model and serial number on the site if the first few numbers of the serial don't match what's on the screen then it's not a recalled washer

Worst ever!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well they delivered my washer and now a tech has to come tomorrow. It's loud as if its sick. The spin cycle is ridiculously SLOW. Your clothes come out wet. REAL WET. If that tech says nothing is wrong it's going back. Immediately. This is the second washer I bought both broke and suppose to be new. I paid so much for this washer and this is what I get. DO MOT BUY THIS WASHER.

No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from MsSamsung
Posted .Hi Jeannegirl,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. The WA52J8700AP has a maximum spin speed of 1100 RPM, which is capable of extracting most of the water from a load of laundry as long as it's installed, leveled and functioning properly. For example, if the Washer is not leveled correctly, causing a large amount of vibration that the VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology) is unable to offset, the Washer will automatically reduce the spin speed to prevent damage.
I hope this information, in addition to the technical support you have scheduled, will help to resolve this issue for you.
Thank you,
Ms. Samsung

20 Year Old Stain
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine removed a 20 year old meatball stain in a dress of a flower girl. During my wedding in 1997, my daughter had ruined her dress with meatball sauce. Over the years, I planned to put the dress in the cleaners. Various life events cause me to forget the dress. During our packing up the house to move, we found the dress in one of the closets. I decided to toss the dress in my Samsung washer on the delicate and steam setting. The dress was cleaned. Amazing! Another Samsung amazing product! The style of this washing is so nice that the buyers of our house asked to keep our washer and dryer. We are now in the process of buying another one. It will be the exact same model! This is the best washer/dryer that I have ever had!

Large Load Capacity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say I thought I was really going to love my new washer but I find that it wrinkles my clothes terribly. If you have shirts that you want to hang dry the clothes come out with crazy wrinkles and everything now needs to ironed and the wrinkles don't come out in the dryer as well. My husband has polyester pants for his uniform that we have never had problems with wrinkles in and it wrinkled them so bad I took the to the dry cleaners. I believe it is because of the steam feature but to be honest I am really not sure. I would not buy this washer given what I know now.

Worst Washer Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband purchased this washer and its the absolute worst Ive ever seen for the price we paid. The multiple options, levels of wash are a big FLOP the waste of water, and laundry detergent is ridiculous the clothes comes out as dirty as they are when you put them in, it is a super soaker that does not wash the clothes despite the mighty spin advertised, clothes dont even come out smelling clean Im so disgusted and unhappy with this purchase not to mention its a noisy machine.

I must expect to much
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made my purchase based on the reviews. I must expect to much from a washer. The cloths really don't get all that clean in this washer, and even more disappointing they are still quite wet when the washer is done. I had to buy a step stool for my wife to reach the bottom. If I had my way I would of bought a front loader, but my wife is the one that does 75% of the washing so if she is happy then I am happy.

Too much work for a washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have owned this washer for 5 months. So excited to get free-standing washer/dryer as our other was a stackable with less capacity. I have already had Samsung come out once last week because the washer would not drain. And now I am in the same boat. My loads of laundry are taking 3+ hours to wash (1 hour for the spin cycle alone) and drying takes 2.5 hours and the clothes do not come out dry. From reading the manual they say to only fill 3/4 full (which I did), but now it seems it can't even handle that. When thinking about capacity you might want to think about the list capacity and the capacity to actually wash clothes. This is the WORST washer & dryer (its partner) I have ever had. (We joke that they are so technologically advanced that they feel washing & drying clothes is beneath them - perhaps so.) Just need a washer and dryer that will wash and dry clothes and not take all day to do one load!!!
