After two days it disconnected and I cannot get it rediscovered. Took paint off the wall taking it off (sticky tape adhesive) so I could do a reset as the hole is on the back. I talked to a super nice guy at tech support for SmartThings who said mine was his first call on this new gen button. Waiting for his call back, I guess if he figures it out....

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After a few hours of trying to get my Samsung Button to connect to my Samsung Hub, I gave up. I live about an hour from the nearest Best Buy and haven't had a chance to return the item yet. I don't know if I just got a dud, if it came with a dead battery, or if something else is going on... I removed the plastic tab to activate it and searched for it using 2 different phones and both the SmartThings app and SmartThings Classic App. It could not be found nor could it be manually setup. I tried holding in on the reset button with a paperclip more than a dozen times, again with both phones, both apps on both phones, and automatic and manual. Nothing worked. I don't know if want to exchange it for another one and see if it pairs better or just be done with it and try a different brand. Having to travel an hour there and an hour back for an item that does not work is not my idea of a fun evening!

Drops connection to base station

However, this button disconnects frequently from the new 3rd generation base station forcing me to remove and re-add the device on a regular basis.

The issue is that it works perhaps 50% of the time for me. I have it paired with a SmartThings hub and a SmartThings outlet to (attempt) to control some string lights.
