Works!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the button in order to provide my elderly mother with a one button solution to deal with the Netflix message asking if she's still watching. Since I had a never used Logitech Harmony Hub, I decided to utilize that as well. I remembered that the Harmony Hub is capable of running a macro based on the push of a button (on one of their remotes). I didn't want my mother to have to figure out another remote, and I knew that SmartThings works with Harmony. I created the macro to emulate pressing left arrow, and pressing select on the smart TV remote. I set the SmartThings button for a single quick button press, or a long button press in case she held the button longer. I first tested it using a SmartThings switchable power outlet and it worked fine. But of course that was with two SmartThings devices. With my SmartThings hub and my Harmony Hub seeing each other I was ready to go. To my disappointment, Harmony did not have the option of selecting the SmartThings button as the device. It listed other SmartThings devices but not that one. I contacted Logitech support. After what sounded like a level 1 answer, I requested escalation. Unfortunately, they never integrated the SmartThings button with their hub. Still though, the button was easy to figure out, and set up with SmartThings, and the price point is great. So I do recommend it.

Simple, Small, Bonus Features
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great device! For years I have had various brands of smart home devices, including Samsung SmartThings. Wink used to play a central part, but since they switched to a subscription, I am switching away (Wink is still great for the amount of devices it talks to, if you don’t mind a subscription). I bought a SmartThings hub to control my Cree Connected lights and monitor SmartThings. I needed to replace my current wireless buttons, and these are it. I like that I can assign a double press action with a delay, which I use for a delayed off. It also has a builtin thermometer, which is nifty. They also have a builtin magnet, and I now have a switch on my fridge! I don’t know how the batteries will last, but I might be modding many of my devices to run on rechargeables.

Surprised by the utility of this button.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Strong magnet on the back. Three push button modes with tactile feedback on each button press - single press, double press, or press and hold gives it great utility. Linked it to the Samsung SmartThings A19 bulbs on a nightstand lamp that had a cord switch that was unreachable. Can now use it in three modes - 100% brightness, 20% brightness, and timed shutoff after 30 minutes from the button magnetically attached to the lamp base. Needs to have a good connection to your wireless SmartThings network to work properly. At first I pondered what is the utility of a SmartThings button, but now I have several ideas for uses in my home.

Great little button
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice little addition to any smart home setup. It only works with SmartThings hub (it does not work with Wink). It can be configured to trigger 3 different actions or routines with: 1 press, double press, and press-and-hold. It also has a built-in temperature sensor which can also trigger actions and routines. It can't be mounted on a wall as there is no notch on the back to be mounted on a screw. It does however have a magnetic back so you can simply stick it on metal surface (pretty strong magnet too). One thing you can do is simply put a large screw flush into the wall and rely on the built-in magnet to hold it in place over the screw head; or you can simply use double-sided tape.

Excellent Home Automation Device
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like these buttons. They are small and you can stick them up anywhere with ease. The battery lasts months, if not longer. You can use these to trigger anything in your home automation system. I have a room that I enter from the garage that is often dark. There are switches for the lights on the opposite wall from the door. For convenience, I stuck one of these on the wall next to the door, where I'd really like light switches. When I press it, my automation system either turns on the lights in the room or turns them off (if they're already on). It also supports several types of presses - like quick tap, long press, etc. As a bonus, these have a temperature sensor.

Know the Limits
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this before actually realizing what I couldn't couldn't use this for. I was hoping that I could trigger certain smart apps with this oh, but I found out that that was not possible in the current SmartThings setup. I contacted the SmartThings support and suggested that this be added stop, so hopefully we'll see something come from that. Despite me not being able to do what I initially wanted, I did find a use case for this which works pretty well in my situation. I have this triggering certain lights with a single-price, on other group of lights with a double press, and turning them all off with a hold. So far that has been more than enough to keep me happy for now, but I do wish that I would have actually looked into what this can actually do beforehand.

Great item, but ifttt integration needs work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This button is small, has great range, and can be programmed to do up to three things (tap, double tap, hold). The only drawback is that these are programmable in the smartthings app for other things in the app. For instance, my wemo switch and third party zwave switch show up in the app but my tplink switches (which I have a lot of), don't. The Samsung link to Ifttt does not allow buttons to be used as devices... The temperature sensor inside is available, but not the button. The way around this is to create a virtual switch in the smartthings app which the button can control and ifttt can see and use. Little thing that needs to be changed to make this perfect.

Q: QuestionI have a smart light switch, Google Home and Samsung Smart Things. I currently use my voice to turn on/off the smart switch. Can I use this button to execute that same command for the smart switch?
Asked by RoyEP3.
- A:Answer Yes you can. I eventually got tired of Google's inconsistency in picking up my voice for commands so I got a few of these buttons for controlling light bulbs that are not tied to a light switch. This works really well. You can set it to toggle so the first tap will turn on and the second tap will turn off.

Q: QuestionCan I use this button to broadcast a recorded message to all of the echo dots in the house?
Asked by OhioG.
- A:Answer Apparently not. SmartThings button can only be used to turn ON or OFF the accessories produced by companies affiliated with smartThings hub. Echo products by amazon are not one of those.
