I purchased this before actually realizing what I couldn't couldn't use this for. I was hoping that I could trigger certain smart apps with this oh, but I found out that that was not possible in the current SmartThings setup. I contacted the SmartThings support and suggested that this be added stop, so hopefully we'll see something come from that. Despite me not being able to do what I initially wanted, I did find a use case for this which works pretty well in my situation. I have this triggering certain lights with a single-price, on other group of lights with a double press, and turning them all off with a hold. So far that has been more than enough to keep me happy for now, but I do wish that I would have actually looked into what this can actually do beforehand.

One of the least expensive buttons that works with Smartthings (it is Smartthings), and works very well. Can set up three different events with single press, double press, and hold. And the Smartthing app has the option for a toggle off and on, so you don't need to use one for on and on for off, (if you're using it for lights or something similar). I set mine to turn on/off light at 70% to white for single press, on/off 100% blue with double press, and set light at 50% with hold/long press. Mount by double sided tape (included) or it's magnetic (I put a metal, blank face plate next to regular wall switches and just placed it on there).

Great device! For years I have had various brands of smart home devices, including Samsung SmartThings. Wink used to play a central part, but since they switched to a subscription, I am switching away (Wink is still great for the amount of devices it talks to, if you don’t mind a subscription). I bought a SmartThings hub to control my Cree Connected lights and monitor SmartThings. I needed to replace my current wireless buttons, and these are it. I like that I can assign a double press action with a delay, which I use for a delayed off. It also has a builtin thermometer, which is nifty. They also have a builtin magnet, and I now have a switch on my fridge! I don’t know how the batteries will last, but I might be modding many of my devices to run on rechargeables.

I bought the button in order to provide my elderly mother with a one button solution to deal with the Netflix message asking if she's still watching. Since I had a never used Logitech Harmony Hub, I decided to utilize that as well. I remembered that the Harmony Hub is capable of running a macro based on the push of a button (on one of their remotes). I didn't want my mother to have to figure out another remote, and I knew that SmartThings works with Harmony. I created the macro to emulate pressing left arrow, and pressing select on the smart TV remote. I set the SmartThings button for a single quick button press, or a long button press in case she held the button longer. I first tested it using a SmartThings switchable power outlet and it worked fine. But of course that was with two SmartThings devices. With my SmartThings hub and my Harmony Hub seeing each other I was ready to go. To my disappointment, Harmony did not have the option of selecting the SmartThings button as the device. It listed other SmartThings devices but not that one. I contacted Logitech support. After what sounded like a level 1 answer, I requested escalation. Unfortunately, they never integrated the SmartThings button with their hub. Still though, the button was easy to figure out, and set up with SmartThings, and the price point is great. So I do recommend it.

It works as advertised, which is rare these days for electronics. Can set 3 different functions: single, double, and hold. I did dock 1 star because there’s a slight delay (maybe 1s), and on rare occasions it doesn’t read a button push. It reduces the convenience because there’s an uncertainty when you press the button, unlike a regular switch or some other smart lights.

Magnetic button perfect for when you want to activate scenes, to the point where I tested "hands free capabilities" with my foot and sticking to a metal desk leg. It works, but you're better off sticking it in a normal-person place where you can reach over and slap it when you need it. Works great on a Hubitat C3 using the Button Controller app.

Nice addition to the Smartthings sensors. If you don't feel like yelling over the TV or kids to activate an assistant, the button works great. It's magnetic so I used a 3M command strip with a washer, the same diameter, to mount to the wall above the couch. I can use the button then stick it back to the wall, or just push it. I recommend it, maybe a couple. It's in the living room so the temperature sensor let's me know if it's comfortable.

This is a neat little gadget. It’s very low tech. This comes in handy when your in a rush to leave the house and can’t find the remote. Simply click and it turns off/on vice verse. Make sure to follow direction exact to get 100 percent effective results. It’s also magnetic so if you have a metal table or any metal wall/surface it will be a nice little bonus. If you have kids you may also put it in a high spot.

Pre-WWII Home without light switches in the wall

I used the SmartPlug with a smart button in a home build before light switches per se (pre WWII). I installed the SmartPlug above the light in the ceiling space and attached the smart button by the door. WORKED PERFECT! Didn't have to try and run a wire over the ceiling and down a wall of the house build years ago. This would not have been an easy job because of how solid the home was built.

What's the difference between this and a traditional switch? You can program up to three different activities with this button and it can be for almost any kind of action (individual/group). It's relatively small and inconspicuous so no worries about it looking like an eyesore. Battery life has been good so far, and although a bit finnicky at first, it paired solidly. Works with V2 hub as well!

Love these things! Have them all over the house to act as temperature sensors (which link up to my Ecobee SmartThermostat in SmartThings) I also have them set up to run scenes if I dont want to use voice commands with Alexa. Would highly recommend these to anyone with multiple smart lights, scenes, or smart devices.

This is a very nice little addition to any smart home setup. It only works with SmartThings hub (it does not work with Wink). It can be configured to trigger 3 different actions or routines with: 1 press, double press, and press-and-hold. It also has a built-in temperature sensor which can also trigger actions and routines. It can't be mounted on a wall as there is no notch on the back to be mounted on a screw. It does however have a magnetic back so you can simply stick it on metal surface (pretty strong magnet too). One thing you can do is simply put a large screw flush into the wall and rely on the built-in magnet to hold it in place over the screw head; or you can simply use double-sided tape.

The button is small and the back is magnetic, similar to the current Smartthings motion sensors. You can have separate actions for single tap, double tap, and hold. It's responsive and works well. We use one to turn our garbage disposal that's plugged into a smart plug on and off.

These buttons are great with 3 available controls. Single tap, double tap, and long hold. The included temperature sensor is also very beneficial for finding areas in the house that need hvac attention. Sadly Samsung discontinued this product.

I set this up for my pregnant wife for her nightstand so now she can tap this button to turn her lamp on more easily. Only downside is that if the button isn't used for awhile then it requires two taps, one to pull the switch out of sleep mode, and one to register the light to turn on.

This button is small, has great range, and can be programmed to do up to three things (tap, double tap, hold). The only drawback is that these are programmable in the smartthings app for other things in the app. For instance, my wemo switch and third party zwave switch show up in the app but my tplink switches (which I have a lot of), don't. The Samsung link to Ifttt does not allow buttons to be used as devices... The temperature sensor inside is available, but not the button. The way around this is to create a virtual switch in the smartthings app which the button can control and ifttt can see and use. Little thing that needs to be changed to make this perfect.

If you are a smartthings owner, this will allow 3 physical routines to run. It also is a tempature sensor. How can you go wrong? The battery will last you years if not used too often.

I needed this because my light switch stopped working. I put this next to the light switch and also bought a compatible wall adapter to plug in my light. I can either turn on the light by using my phone or hitting this button. Though sometimes there is a significant delay in when I hit it and when the light actually comes on. I'd say sometimes 30 seconds or so delay. I think it's not working and suddenly the light will go on after I give up hitting the button. Doesn't happen often, but on occasion. Better to deal with that having someone come out and fix my light switch.

Smartthings revolutionalized home automation making it easier for the average Joe to automate tasks at home. The Samsung Button adds to that making any such automation as easy as pressing a button. Beyond just a single press it can be calibrated for multiple presses like a double or triple press so multiple actions can be completed. So whether that's turning off the lights, locking the doors, raising the temp, turning on the sprinklers, etc, etc, you can make that task as easy as pushing a button. And the button works really well, with great battery life.
