Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Galaxy Tab S3's impressive screen quality, ease of use, and long battery life as significant strengths. The included S Pen and lightweight design also receive considerable praise. However, some customers find the price to be a drawback, and a few express concern about the limited storage capacity. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

I bought this as a gift. There are more updated tablets that are worth the buy. If you need this for a young child for homework or watch simple videos, this is ok. For adults, please look at other options.

Disappointed by this vs. models of the past. S-Pen is great and works very well but the overall experience seems to be lacking in fluidity. Tab S2 has been the best for me so far.

Best Android Tablet on the Market

Let me start by saying I've owned both the Galaxy Tab S (2014) and Galaxy Tab S2 (2015) and now a Galaxy Tab S3. I also have the keyboard case cover which I highly recommend. I've always had the official Samsung "Book" covers on my previous tablets and together with the tablet the new keyboard cover is practically the same thickness as those book covers-except one side of it is a keyboard. I don't know how they did it but I love thin and lightweight gadgets and this definitely fits the bill. The keyboard is also completely usable, in fact, I'm writing this review with it! With this keyboard, better multitasking, and Android's support for mice this is as close to a laptop replacement as Android will get. The tablet itself is a thing of premium beauty, glass on both sides, and thin and light. With the glass back I'm a little nervous as to what should happen if I dropped this thing but that's just another reason to splurge on the keyboard cover. Similiar to competing tablets there are now a set of quad speakers so that it can output sound properly no matter what orientation you are holding it in. The sound quality is quite impressive for something that is this thin. The screen is just beautiful. Super AMOLED continues to produce the most vivid, colorful images and Samsung proves again that it is the leader in that space. I absolutely love reading digital comics on this thing. The images just pop off the screen, with inky blacks and excellent contrast. The screen also boasts of being the first tablet to support HDR, however, at the time of this review I could not find any apps that support this feature. Amazon is supposed to support it but I could not verify that. Hopefully more app and content creators will get on board with mobile HDR and it will really show off the power of this screen. I admit I don't have much use for the stylus. I've played with it but I'm not a person who would write on the screen (terrible handwriting) and I'm not a digital artist. I do appreciate that Samsung does include one in the box, however. Battery life seems to be on par with other tablets of this size. However, due to it's thinness I think it actually has a pretty small battery. Tried a few games such as Super Mario Run and did not have any issues. Again, the screen makes gaming or watching movies on this thing such a delight. Ok, now the one downside. Despite setting up my thumbprint twice, I could not get the tablet to unlock with that fingerprint consistently. It would work maybe every other time on the 3rd attempt or so. After 5 attempts I had to enter my password. Perhaps it was something to do with my finger but I haven't had this issue on other phones/tablets. For now I just disabled it. And one thing I wish they would change...is to go back to the 16:9 aspect ratio of the original Galaxy Tab S. Why...it was the perfect aspect ratio for movies and comics. However, it was awkward to use in portrait mode which is likely why they changed it. Bottom line, should you buy one? If you already have a Tab S2 it might not be worth the upgrade, but if you are lacking a premium Android tablet, the answer is yes.

The tablet is great having the latest Android operating system. However, for an S Series tablet using an S-Pen, there is no place in or on the device to store the pen. This results in a easily misplace item for a portable device.

I thought there was going to be huge difference between the 2 and 3 and there was the tab S3 is much thicker and a lot heavier than the 2 . I definitely am glad I didnt sell my tab S2 and I prefer to use it over the 3 by far .

Great screen and fast charging. Other than that this tablet is slow and laggy. Nothing special just another tablet on Android which is not an acceptable system for a tablet.

Samsung has so much bloat and junk in their software. Root it and it's now on Android Pie with LineageOS. Tad glitchy software but 1000x faster than it ever was on the factory software.

The Tab S3 is fine. Its not much of an upgrade over the Tab S2 except for the stylus and that's the reason I bought it. Two days into ownership the S-Pen clip (to hold it on to case) broke off in my hand. An obvious defect... a call to Samsung (expecting a quick "we'll send you out a new one") was met with... call our sales department. That call was met with send it to us and we'll repair or replace in 14 days. I'll just return and try something else. The minimal upgrade isn't worth the hassle.

While the S3 is designed, and feels, like a really premium tablet, I've been using it for about a week, and I can't help but feel like it is more of a laptop than a tablet (if you have the keyboard). The tablet itself looks and feels very nice. Having glass on the back feels great, though it is definitely a finger-print magnet. Despite the size of the screen, the tablet is light enough to hold for a while single-handed for reading. I have to specify for reading, because the tablet is too large to comfortably use single-handed. The 2:1 aspect ratio of the screen makes the tablet wide enough that it feels unbalanced if you try to hold it and tap with a thumb. The screen is also very nice on the S3. The colors are vibrant, and it is capable of being very bright. This is also not without trade-offs. When looking at images that involve text, it is possible for the text to appear distorted as the image is over-saturated with color. This also applies to games. I tried installing Clash of Clans, and found that everything blurred together due to the unusual vibrancy of the colors. The keyboard assessory is the most functional that I've ever used. I was always a fan of the netbook form factor (slightly smaller than a regular keyboard), and this feels very similar. The keys feel very nice, and are very responsive. Adjusting to the slightly smaller keys is a minor adjustment, and relatively easily accomplished. I only find myself hitting incorrect keys when reaching for the number row, as they are slightly more compressed than usual. I imagine I'll adjust to this as well. The keyboard also has additional functionality that most do not. You can use hot-key combinations to replicate hitting the home key, back key, recents, or launch a browser or email app, amongst others. If you're accustomed to such short cuts on computers, you'll take nicely to these. The final point I'd make in favor of the keyboard is that it doesn't need to be charged. It connects easily to the tablet and doesn't require remembering to charge it separately. The only negatives that I can think of with the keyboard lie in this connection to the tablet. It doesn't lock in any fashion, so using it on your actual lap allows for too much shifting, and doesn't feel solid. This becomes apparent every time the tablet shifts off of the connector, as it prompts the tablet to turn off the screen and lock. When using on a desk or table-top, it is solid and comfortable. The reason that I feel this is closer to being a tablet than a laptop is largely because of feeling awkward with single-hand use. When laying on the floor, I found it much easier to have it rest on the floor than to keep holding it up. When in a chair, it is much more comfortable resting on your lap than holding it up. Not specific to this tablet, I also feel it necessary to mention the changes to Samsung's TouchWiz software. For me, the S3 is an upgrade from the Pro 8.4 that I've been using for years. On the Pro 8.4, the OS/Launcher felt a bit laggy and sluggish. This was entirely on the TouchWiz launcher, as changing that entirely solved the lag issues. On the S3, it is much closer to stock Android, with only minor changes to icon appearance and a couple of widgets you wouldn't usually have. I still prefer a different launcher, but if you like the TouchWiz, it is much smoother now without sacrificing any functionality. They also added in some nice features, like a built-in blue-light filter function to prevent eyestrain at night. This is a nice added feature, as apps to affect this functionality tend to be memory hogs. TLDR: Great tablet, but a little large to use one-handed for extended periods. You're better off being able to brace it on the floor/lap/table rather than holding all the time. The keyboard is the best that I've used in a dedicated assessory. It largely needs to be on a table, as any shaking of the tablet causes it to separate from the keyboard, turning off and locking the screen. All in all, great tablet with a vibrant screen, though more akin to a laptop than a tablet.
