Great Potential, perfect size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the gear s2 for about a month now and came from a Moto 360 1st Gen, which was my first smartwatch. Personally, I like the gear much better. The ui is great and fun to navigate with the rotating dial. The size is great as the moto 360 was too big for me. My wrists are not too big though so some may prefer the larger screen on the Moto. However, screen quality wise, the gear s2 blows the Moto 1st Gen out of the water with much higher pixel density and better black levels. Some of the watch faces look fantastic on this thing. Some may find the list of apps a little limiting compared to Android Wear or an iWatch, but for me it does everything I used it for on my Wear watch, and in some cases more. I can control my music, reply to and delete emails and texts and even hail an uber with it. Battery life, great enough? This watch can easily get a day even with ambiant mode on (Watch face shows black and white watch face as compared to nothing when not using it). Even two full days is not out of reach, plus it charges so quick that you can throw it on the charger for a half hour and easily get many more hours out of it. Before my Moto 360, I never really wore a watch. Once I got the Moto, went to wearing it about 2-3 days a week. Since the day I've gotten the Gear s2, I've worn it everyday.

Almost perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this watch everywhere: sleep, workout, work, shower, everyday use Pros: Batter life, turning bezel, size Con: Watch bands break and if you fix it'll never be the same. Trust me just go with the classic. Replacement bands for the S2 is just way too expensive. about 50$....that's about 25% of what the product cost....

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased a Moto 360, and I returned it after trying this one out. I really believe that Tizen is superior to Android wear. And it integrates perfectly with a Galaxy phone. Great battery life, and more and more apps are starting to show up.

A great smartwatch from Samsung.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second smartwatch from Samsung, my first being a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, and I must say it is an improvement from the previous version. Not only does this look like a conventional watch, but the interface on it is pretty simple and intuitive when using. The moving bezel around the edge of the watch face is a pretty useful and easy to use for navigating the menu's of the smartwatch as well as accessing the various apps on the watch. The rotating bezel is perhaps the coolest and most useful feature of the Gear S2. As for battery, without running it on the brightest setting, I can usually get roughly 72 hours (3 days) before I need to recharge the smartwatch to continue using, which is pretty good to compared to other smartwatch brands and it on par with my old Gear 2 Neo. Speaking on my Gear 2 Neo, there are two features on it that the Gear S2 doesn't have. The first one, which is pretty minor, is the IR emitter for remote control of TVs and cable boxes and I am not terrible worried about that. The second one, which gives my old Gear 2 Neo a slight edge over the Gear S2 is the ability to actually make phone calls on the smartwatch. While you can accept or reject phone calls on the Gear S2, you can't actually take calls, such as speaker phone calls, which kind of gave you a Star Trek or Dick Tracy moment. Again, two minor things that I lost by switch to the new Gear S2, but it does everything else my old Gear 2 Neo does. Receiving notifications from texts, emails, or even apps are clear and easy to read. So you if have a Samsung android smartphone and are looking for a cool accessory, definitely check out the Gear S2. A bit pricey, but I haven't stopped wearing it since I got it. Plus it comes with a swappable wrist band for different size wrist.

Best Smart Watch So Far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews about this watch before the purchase. All the criticisms about this watch were pluses for me. I had previous Samsung Gear S and it's display was too big and the curvature of the display made it easy to scratch the surface as I bump my wrist around the house. Its speaker was convenient but not good for private conversation and it really drained the battery. S2 is flat. No scratch so far. No speaker but bluetooth is just fine. The battery lasts two days with frequent use. Don't care about having thousands of apps. I have all I need. I can control my podcasts and take a voice memo from my watch. Only one problem. The watch band screw was loose. Took to local Best Buy at Carson City, Nevada. I asked for help because my 60 year old eyes are not as they used to be. Russell, the assistant manager, said It's broke, I need to send to Samsung and I can't return it either. I bought bi-ocular magnifier glasses and screwed the watch band on. For those who are thinking about purchasing this watch I would consider purchasing the model with classic band. The band is easier to change. Good luck. I love the watch.

Absolutely LOVE!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had done a lot of research online about which smart watch I wanted and waited months for this to come out. The bezel makes this thing super easy to use and texting is easy. I use this thing all the time and the battery lasts at least two days and will still have 20 to 30 percent left. The only things that slightly bug me are the facts that there is no reply option when you are looking at a text, so to text someone, they have to be on your buddy list set on your phone. Also, because it's a Tizen OS, there aren't many apps yet. I'm patient, but I would like to see more come out soon. Other than those things though, this has made my life a lot easier and I feel safer with the ability to send help messages from my watch. If you're going to get a smart watch, get this. It will be available to pair with iPhones soon!

Samsung Gear S2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With high hopes of this being the smartwatch that shows all the others up, I was pretty disappointed by what I got. Firstly, the lack of preparedness on Samsung's part was just absurd. The black Samsung Gear S2 was the only smartwatch to launch with the others "coming soon". I was looking forward to purchasing the 'Classic' smartwatch, but couldn't wait. The watch itself is fantastic, it's very fast, the battery lasts almost three days, and the rotating bezel is such a great idea. The app selection on the other hand is saddening. We were promised 1000 apps at launch; I can tell you right now there is nothing close to 1000 apps on Samsung's app store (that support the Gear S2). With time, this watch will well deserve five stars, but for the lack of apps, I'm giving it four. If you are wanting this watch but the white or classic variant, I would say wait for it. You will get what you want and hopefully by that time there will be a lot more apps supporting the Gear S2.

I love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a faithful samsung customer I had high hopes for the gear s2 and I haven't been too disappointed. The features in the samsung gear app allow for every app on my phone to be allowed to send notifications and even receive feedback via the gear. Tizen may have been a weakness but I can get all my Google services notifications: hangouts, Gmail, and messager. I can even reply right into those apps! Testing the 2-3 day battery claim right now and I hope by using Google reminders I will update after I find out.. if I actually find the time :) as of right now, get the gear, you will love it!

Great Smartwatch, not dissapointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this Smartwatch is very nice. It is light weight and very durable. I wear it at work where i bang it on stuff and scrape it against metal, so far it is still looking brand new. It looks nice as long as you are not wearing it with anthing too formal. For a smart watch I would say the battery life is very good and the speed/ function is exceptional. However It does not have many apps, or useful ones anyways. Hopefully they add more over time like pandora and some other big ones like that. I would give it five starts except that it wasn't all that big of a deal. It is nice, but it didn't impress me as I thought it would. I have it synced with my Samsung Galaxy S5. I feel that my phone is more than enough and at that point the watch is sort of useless other than to tell time. My phone does everything it can do and it really is not any more convenient than my phone. So in the end, it's a great watch, but for what it does, it's really not worth it considering the price.

Nice looking watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the original Pebble watch, I like most things about it except the style, it doesn't look very nice but is very functional. I have been looking for a nicer looking watch with the same functionality. I tried the Moto, very nice looking watch but the battery wouldn't last a day and the vibration was so weak that you didn't notice it. When the Gear S2 came out I purchased it right away and here are my findings. PRO: the battery lasts about 35 hours without trying to conserve, that works for me as I charge every night. The charging cradle is nice, no plugging in, it just nests, charges fairly quickly. A multitude of watch faces to choose from, texts are easy to read and respond to. CON: The vibration is just ok, you need to have your strap tight to feel it , hands down the Pebble has this watch beat in that category, battery life too, the Pebble will run for days without a charge. The vibration is important to me as I keep my phone in my pocket, I don't feel it vibrate or hear it ring sometimes. Switching between watch faces could be a little easier but that's no big deal. Summary: I like this watch and I will keep it, it is nice looking and except for the vibration I like everything about it.

Great Smart Watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good watch. I looked at several different smart watches. What really sold me on the Samsung Gear S2 was the Rotating Bezel. Also, the no "Flat Tire" was a big plus. The only possibly negative thing is that there are not a large amount of apps for it yet. The battery life is excellent on this watch.

Excellent watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent watch from Samsung. I got this watch for my wife because I think this is one of the only watches out there that is little bit more female-friendly. It has excellent battery life and the user interface is very fluid and fast. This watch doesn't have a speaker but it does have a microphone which means you can make call if you connect it through your car's Bluetooth or any bluetooth enabled headphone. The vibration is adequate and I think the functions are properly aligned with today's needs. The display is very sharp and Vivid and easily readable in direct sunlight. Overall it's a very light weight watch with beautiful watch interfaces. This watch only lacks a speaker and stand-alone GPS other than that I highly recommend it.

Works great, has potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great device. I love it, battery lasts much longer than expected. With limited use, could easily last 2+ days. Still learning all the cool features it comes with. The rotating bezel is a great feature. I don't know how I lived without it. Screen is beautiful and can be very bright, I keep mine at 3/10 on the settings. It has a sensor built in the screen and when you look at your watch in daylight the screen automatically gets brighter so it's easy to read. Not a lot of apps in the samsung store yet but the device is still relatively new. I've heard of the bands breaking but I've yet to see any wear on them. As an active individual the watch sees plenty of abuse but she's held up great so far. After plenty of research this is the device I chose for my needs. I am very happy with my choice.

Smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sansung Gear S2 pairs great with Samsung Galaxy s5 Android. Get all your info on the watch, convenient way to check text messages without having to look at the phone. Keeps track of health stats. Battery life is about three days, easy to charge, just lay it on the charger.

Beautiful piece of tech
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first smartwatch I own, so there's not a lot of perspective. But what I can say is that this is a flawless, and attractive device. It does what it is advertised to do. I wanted a fitness tracker, but since I don't want to wear 2 devices, I also need a watch and don't want something that looks like a laptop strapped to my wrist. So this functions as a watch very well and there's a multitude of watchfaces to buy, either free or paid, or make your own when you're bored. As a fitness tracker it works well, is very accurate with steps, but it does lack a GPS. So for distance, especially for a bike ride, you have to tether it to the phone's location sensor. Not a huge deal as I can't imagine going for a bike ride without the phone anyway. The Moto 360 sport that just came out, does have a GPS built in, so all things being equal I may have given that one a try. However, built in GPS on a watch will for sure kill the battery, so there's a trade off. With normal use I easily get 2 days on a full charge with the Gear S2. Other than those 2 functions (watch and fitness tracker), there's a bunch of apps that may be useful, but I haven't really given them much of a try. The maps app is pretty bad and the screen is so small, even if it worked well I doubt I'd use it. Notifications are fairly useful, but I don't see why I wouldn't just pick up my phone if it's nearby. But for the price it's a very cool piece of tech that really functions well as a high end watch and the fitness tracking is motivating. The fact that it is on a Tizen platform may be limiting as far as what's available for it in terms of apps, but again, I don't see how a smartwatch needs apps anyway since it's so small. For me it serves a purpose and smartwatches are in it's infancy, so this is about as good as it gets for now. Oh, and I don't use it with a Samsung phone. I've heard there are more apps and functionality (Samsung Pay for example) that is available if it is paired with a Samsung phone, but I refuse to use a Samsung phone at this time (too much bloat). Works fine with my Moto X 2014.

Excellent smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it as a mother's day gift for my wife. She loves it. She is an RN and she can't always have her phone out while on the floor so I got her this so she can get her notifications without taking her phone out. She is able to text, check weather, step count, alarm, email, the list is too long. Battery life is great, she can go almost three full days on a single charge with the screen brightness down to 6-7. I bought her extra bands so she can change them out when ever she feels like it. Very sturdy and just the right size for her.

A Nice Starting Point For Smart Watches
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Samsung phone so syncing and connecting the watch was easy. Battery lasts around 35-40 hours while connected to phone via bluetooth, which is as good as can be expected. There is no speaker on the watch, so it is unable to play music or take phone calls, but calls and music can be controlled by the watch with the audio coming from a connected bluetooth headset or speaker. I am still trying to figure out the easiest way to use the keyboard for texting. I have created saved messages and primarily use those. 4 stars instead of 5 because the watch does not have a speaker.
