A great smartwatch from Samsung.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second smartwatch from Samsung, my first being a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, and I must say it is an improvement from the previous version. Not only does this look like a conventional watch, but the interface on it is pretty simple and intuitive when using. The moving bezel around the edge of the watch face is a pretty useful and easy to use for navigating the menu's of the smartwatch as well as accessing the various apps on the watch. The rotating bezel is perhaps the coolest and most useful feature of the Gear S2. As for battery, without running it on the brightest setting, I can usually get roughly 72 hours (3 days) before I need to recharge the smartwatch to continue using, which is pretty good to compared to other smartwatch brands and it on par with my old Gear 2 Neo. Speaking on my Gear 2 Neo, there are two features on it that the Gear S2 doesn't have. The first one, which is pretty minor, is the IR emitter for remote control of TVs and cable boxes and I am not terrible worried about that. The second one, which gives my old Gear 2 Neo a slight edge over the Gear S2 is the ability to actually make phone calls on the smartwatch. While you can accept or reject phone calls on the Gear S2, you can't actually take calls, such as speaker phone calls, which kind of gave you a Star Trek or Dick Tracy moment. Again, two minor things that I lost by switch to the new Gear S2, but it does everything else my old Gear 2 Neo does. Receiving notifications from texts, emails, or even apps are clear and easy to read. So you if have a Samsung android smartphone and are looking for a cool accessory, definitely check out the Gear S2. A bit pricey, but I haven't stopped wearing it since I got it. Plus it comes with a swappable wrist band for different size wrist.

Sound choice, especially with Samsung ecosystem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, whatever I buy, it comes in pairs because I get one for myself and my wife since she likes the same thing lol. Anyhow, we both had 1st Gen Moto 360's. We did kind of miss some features like the charging dock nightstand clock mode, and the superb voice speech system with Android Wear, but we quickly got over those features. The lack of those features or them working well as well a few other small things keep this from being a 5 star watch. Durability? Both me and my wife Kickbox at an MMA and UFC gym (900+ calories burned in 1 hour), so we do HARDCORE Kickboxing. We've never had our bands to break, scratches, or anything, gloves on or off, and I've banged my watch on car parts, PC equipment, walls, and etc, and it looks brand new. You can't go wrong here if durability is a concern. Speaking of fitness, the S Health integration is just as good as Apple's, if not better, and it works for any type of fitness sport you do, not just running like the Moto Sport. If fitness tracking is a priority, get this watch! No regrets! Way way way way way better than Android Wear! Samsung pay is a GAME CHANGER! You can use Samsung Pay at EVERY terminal except insertion terminals (like Gas Station Pumps and ATM machines). You don't have to guess which store has an NFC terminal, or if you leave your wallet or purse at home, you can still pay for things and is way more secure than the card chip tech out now. You can only currently use NFC on the watch, but this is just an app update away. The convenience of paying with your watch and/or your phone can't be beat! The Gear S2's UI (user interface) is much more intuitive and streamline than Android Wear....the swiping all over the place for basic functions gets old, especially when you're in a rush. The rotating bezel touch screen combo more than makes up for the lack of voice functions from a daily use perspective. We don't really use the S Voice features because they do work, but it's annoying to get things correct. I'd just much rather grab my phone and text or use the keyboard texting app on the watch. If voice functions are a must (hands free operation), then I would suggest getting an Android Wear (or Apple Watch if you have an iPhone and etc). The watch imo actually looks cleaner and feels as such than the Moto 360, even the Moto 360 2nd Gen, especially if you get the Classic with the leather bands....this is coming from a previous Moto 360 owner too which I still have great love for Motos! For a Sport Smart Watch, this is hard to argue against since it looks both sporty and classy, and it isn't a lint magnet like the Moto 360 Sport Band. It's easily on par if not better looking that the Apple Sport Watch, but again, looks are subjective. The Screen is AWESOME! Super AMOLED kills Android Wear hands down, it's just beautiful! I am a power user, and keep my screen brightness on 6 out of 10. I am never below 55% (but usually at 70 something percent) by 10pm-midnight no matter how hard I try to drain the battery and I start my days at 4am, so for you normal 6-9am risers, you can easily go 2 days without a charge. I dock it at night anyhow, but it's just good to know. You can make calls and talk on it if you get the 3G version from your phone carrier, but I think this feature is silly except for maybe having to catch a call in the shower or something, but honestly, I just use my Jawbone for those situations and no one knows I'm in the shower due to the excellent noise cancellation lol. If you HAVE to have this feature, this and the Apple Watch are your only current choices. This watch does have flaws (lack of many app choices, voice speech doesn't work well, etc), just like ALL OF THEM HONESTLY. You will gain some things with one brand smart watch while loosing some to others. It all depends on your wants and needs. We are happy with our switch, and honestly probably won't go back. Just Google search for any more info on this watch vs others.

If you think a watch should look like a watch...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....then this one is for you. I have been waiting for a correctly proportioned, round-faced smart watch. I generally wear mid-priced watches from Citizen, Bulova, etc. When this came along, I thought I'd give it a try. It is priced similarly to the watches I already own. It looks great on the wrist and is very comfortable to wear. It falls between dressy and casual; it is equally appropriate for work in the office, exercise in the gym, or weekend chores/errands. Could wear it with a suit in a pinch. It works well with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, although some notifications don't make it to the watch (primarily texts). Most do. Many useful functions, and the rotating bezel is very good for navigating them all. The bezel can be a little slippery to get a good hold on, though. Some indentations would help, but the smooth look is cool. Fitness tracking is very good, gets my heart rate, steps, etc. Again, works very nicely with Samsung's "S-Health" app on the phone. One big disappointment is that it seems to confuse the bluetooth in my cars. When I accept calls w/ the watch in my Jeep (UConnect), the calls are routed to the handset instead of to the car's speaker. It happens occasionally in my Honda, too, although not as predictably as in the Jeep. This may have something to do with the cars' vintage (the Jeep is a 2007, the Honda a 2013). The vibrating notifications are palpable but subtle. You can choose which notifications go to the watch, so you're not constantly barraged with interruptions. There is no speaker, so even if your phone is silent, you will get notified without any embarassing beeps or chirps. Of course, this also means that you can't take calls from the watch directly; you must get to your handset. So if you want to be Dick Tracy, you'll have to splurg for the 3G model. I think it's on Verizon. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. I find myself wearing the Gear S2 the majority of the time.

Great watch for techies and Samsung fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is pretty awesome. Has a great look and appeal to it. Pros: Great look and style Convenience - all of your notifications and messages right there on your wrist, and you can even respond. Phone integration (with Samsung S6 Edge, don't know about others) Cons: Technology still has room to grow Watch face can sometimes turn on easily, causing you to change things in error Not yet enough apps, but it seems to be getting there

Gear S2 Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this watch! I've had it for a month and I'm glad I waited for the silver/white combo. The interface is smooth, quick and easy to navigate. I think this is the best form of function and style from a smartwatch. I've even had people comment about how they like the design. I've even had people ask me if it's an Apple Watch smh. The cons I have about the device is the bezel ring started to get loose after just hours of having it. It still functions but I think the build quality could be better. And I do wish Samsung didn't remove the speaker as previous models like the Galaxy Gear and Gear 2/Neo had this. I know the 3g model has this feature to make calls on the watch, but I don't like the added thickness because of the cellular radios inside.

Excellent watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent watch from Samsung. I got this watch for my wife because I think this is one of the only watches out there that is little bit more female-friendly. It has excellent battery life and the user interface is very fluid and fast. This watch doesn't have a speaker but it does have a microphone which means you can make call if you connect it through your car's Bluetooth or any bluetooth enabled headphone. The vibration is adequate and I think the functions are properly aligned with today's needs. The display is very sharp and Vivid and easily readable in direct sunlight. Overall it's a very light weight watch with beautiful watch interfaces. This watch only lacks a speaker and stand-alone GPS other than that I highly recommend it.

Great Watch!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch was for my 14-year-old son's birthday. He loves it! It is connected to his phone via Bluetooth and he receives texts, phone calls, calendar notifications, etc. (which is handy for me since he always has his phone on mute in his pocket and I can't reach him as easily). It is easy to work, attractive, has changeable clock faces and different apps. It is a nice size, especially for a smaller wrist. This watch doesn't look as clunky or techie as some other smartwatches do. Highly recommended!

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My mom uses this with samsung's level U Bluetooth headphones. She says it's great. She works at a deli and always has her hands full making sandwiches. When she gets a call, she can pick up through the watch and talk through her Bluetooth headphones all HANDS FREE. This watch also has a great user interface which is easy to use. My mom also told me that her frequent customers have been complementing her on how great the watch looks on her. She has the black one. Overall, I'm so happy that my mom is putting it to good use and that she's a happy camper with it.

Get one!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say that the gear S 2, is more than what I thought it would be. I was a little disappointed at first, since very little information was available. However the more I played with it the more I fell in love with it. This watch is loaded. The functionality is great, easy to operate, read and just requires hands on use to manage. I only take it off to charge, and depending what I'm wearing I change the face to match. Battery life is cool, wish it was 4 or 5 days however I'm getting almost 2 days and that's constant use. I've been getting the looks since it lights up with the twisting of the wrist, some of which are intentional so others can see it lol. I have no problems since I've taken the time to familiarized myself with the features. I've had garmin vivofit and forerunner but my Gear offers all the features, and a few more than any of my previous ones. It syncs great with my note 5, and I'm like a kid on Christmas lol. All I can say is try it and I'm sure you'll love it.

nice smartwatch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this one before the claasic was realeased. I took it back for the classic. Very nice watch but sportier looking with the rubber band than i prefer. The UI is phenomenal although i cant get flipboard to populate? Also no mini opera app currently. Tons of watch faces available and more apps loading each day. Runs on Tizen which ive never had any issues with. This is a sleek very attractive watch that actually looks like a watch. I tested the always on feature and it does suck battery but still got the full day use with no problem. Sammy took away the ability to "talk" from the watch which is a real bummer. That feature was awesome when you are busy and away from your phone. Also was a very nice safety feature to have...probably done to push the 3g model coming out in Nov. Sprint didnt pick up the S2 so im out of luck for the 3g and not paying for a while new service for a watch. Plus the 3g is not available in the classic model. The classic is gorgeous! Buy it, you wont be disappointed. The wireless charging is awesome! The gear s charging cradle was severely flawed. The contacts rubbed off and i can no longer charge it so its a useless piece of rubbish now.

Good Smartwatch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this watch for the wifey (bought myself the S3 frontier and didn't want her to felt left out!) and she loves it. Bought the white one and changed the strap to black for less than $10 from Amazon. Looks great, lightweight and she loves it. The only thing missing is a speaker but for 200 bucks it's a great deal!

Great Design Poor App Selection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great watch design, actually looks like a watch. The bezel turns which is great and easier than scrolling for me. The biggest issue that I have with the smartwatch is the lack of apps and no GPS. I wanted to use the watch for 2 main reasons, golf and fitness. For Golf, you have two app options, but you must pay for to use the watch. Fitness, has some decent apps, but if you want to go for a jog you have to have your phone to track distance. This is annoying if your not use to running with the oversized phones. I do enjoy getting the text on my watch, I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but to glance down and see an email or text is pretty cool and no more digging out your phone to see who it was.

Great!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good: The design, the bezel, the applications, all works as expected and it's great!! Bad: some apps that were supposed to be available are not, like Uber and Samsung Pay. The battery does not last the two/three days as expected, but recharging every night it will always last the whole day. I expected that I would be able to control Spotify with it, but I cannot.
