I was initially happy with this smartwatch. I was able to stay connected and it has lots of cool features. However, after owning it for two months, the strap tore. It was really difficult to change it, but I was able to. I bought a set of three more straps, which all tore. I then found a metal strap (online through Amazon), and that solved that problem. After then having the device for 7 months, I was wearing it and it stopped responding to touch or hard button use and when I removed the device, the backing had come off. It looked like the adhesive was faulty or something. There is no physical damage to the device. I called Samsung "customer service" and they stated they could not verify the serial number. They called me back again to state they were still trying to verify it. Then, they called me back a third time to tell me they could not verify the serial number and were planning on closing the ticket. I again gave them the serial number, and they stated this was different than they had before and would have to call me back again. I asked to speak to a supervisor, repeatedly, until they finally put one on. She informed me that the validation process takes 24 to 48 hours and if they can verify it, they will give me instructions to mail it in. I imagine they will try to charge me for "physical damage" if I do eventually send it in. I bought this from Best Buy and the serial number should not have been an issue. Had I known I would have to deal with a shoddy product and ridiculous customer care, I would have bought a superior device. My husband has a Moto360 that is a year older and has yet to experience one problem with it. These devices should at least last a year or so.

If you are committed to buying the Gear S2, spend the extra $50 for the classic, but stay away from this watch. At least with the classic watch, you get a normal wristband design that you could purchase anywhere. The wristband on this watch was the worst design I have ever experienced. It is made to where the clasp that connects to the watch, just sits in the wristband, with nothing holding them together. See attached images. The wristband has broken on me twice already, and I have to send it in to Samsung for them to repair/replace the wristband. The first time it broke, I was sitting at my desk typing on the keyboard. The second time it broke I was sitting in the truck and I couldn't find it. It had fallen between the seats. My next step is to see if there is anyway to pay the difference and get the classic watch.

Just wanted to say I was thrilled to get a discount for open box Samsung gear S2. I received the package within 24 hours and once again thrilled. The watch casing box had "Inspected by Best Buy" tape all around it which I didn't like, but I was just excited to get the watch. Well, until I tried to connect my phone to it. I download the Samsung gear software and it went through and then came to a screen that asked me to sign in to my Samsung account. "Reactivation lock is on for the gear" Sign in to your Samsung account to confirm that the Gear belongs to you. .......well the Geek Squad apparently didn't pay attention to this because now it is not usable unless it is unlocked by the account that place it on the watch. So other than getting to look at it that is all I got to do. This is a nice time piece but once again I do not recommend buying an Open Box version of this watch because it is nothing but a paper weight. So disappointed, now I must return it...

I'm not at all impressed with this product. My husband got an iPhone watch at the same time and, while it cost slightly more, it is a far superior product. The apps for this watch are very limited, and I couldn't even get most of the 3rd party apps to download. Based on other user reviews, this is not user error but rather a flaw with the device. The step counter can not properly detect steps taken on an elliptical or during sports like tennis. The very basic health app doesn't even provide the option to log exercise that's not a form of running, but there aren't any other fitness apps that will download and install. The device also lacks the VERY cool camera control tool that the iPhone has. There's supposedly an app, but it failed to install on my device. It's annoying that you are forced to put key apps at least 4 motions away from access unless you choose a watch face that favors a specific app - for example, to check a text I have to activate, slide, tap apps, then tap the text app. Not convenient - at that point I might as well use my phone, and it's obviously not a safe alternative while driving. The ability to answer your phone with this watch is inane - it will activate your phone but you have to speak into the phone, not the watch - pointless! Doesn't even answer phone on speaker mode, so you hit "answer" and then have to scramble for your phone to hit speaker or bring it to your ear. Finally, it doesn't stay on the screen/app you last used unless you leave it in "always on" mode, which kills the battery. So, say I was texting someone or reading an article and drop my wrist - I have to start over at the home screen and swipe, tap,tap just to get back to the screen I just left. The point of this watch is to be convenient - but it's faster and easier to just use your full-sized smart phone and a pedometer and save yourself $250.

Can't answer phone calls on it my other gear died and i think that was a much better watch not to mention it had a camera as well they said this was the upgrade more like down grade.

I was very excited about the new watch. Once I bought it, my excitement quickly left after I put on the watch. It has nice new features, but it is very small. I am a big man and this watch looked very tiny compared to the first gear s. I barely had it for a week and quickly brought it back to best buy. I am getting very disappointed with Samsung and hope they get it together soon or they will lose a customer.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and did not realize that it did not work as a phone but merely a notification of calls and texts. Seems pretty useless. Might as well just use the phone's notification capabilities. Returned to store

My husband wanted to get a smart watch for his Samsung. After much discussion with the Samsung rep, he went with this watch. We returned it the next day. Contrary to what he told us, we couldn't make/answer phone calls. There's no external speaker so you have to have wireless headphones linked to it. Admittedly, we didn't go into Best Buy expecting to buy this, so we didn't do pre-purchase research. We relied on the reps in-store. I'm not sure we'll get the new one, once available, since you need to buy a data plan for it (it isn't like the Apple Watch). But the design is nice and he liked the way this one looked and functioned better than the Apple.

This is a great smartwatch, i love the features and it's style. However, The band is faulty. If you do some research online you will hear that many users have the same problem with the band breaking. After 2 months of off and on use, my watch band simply snapped when putting it on one morning. Do yourself a favor and buy the classic model. It uses regular watch bands (i think?). Youll have more options when searching for a replacement band on amazon or any other site.

With this model you cannot talk through the watch like the previous models. It's a shame Samsung removed such a desirable feature. I returned the watch the same day.

Love the watch, however the non standard non changeable watch band drives me crazy. its the most uncomfortable watch band ever made. and it seems to shrink (or my wrist swells from wearing it) after an hour cutting off circulation forcing me to take it off. And if its hot the band sticks to your skin like glue pinching and stretching your skins as it goes so you cant move it without taking it off.

I had this smart watch on the first day of release. I like it so much until on the 13th day it failed for no reason . The screen was frozen. Doesn't respond to wheel bezel rotation or manipulation and finger touch. Battery was at 70%. I tried to hard reset by using a small paperclip on the reset hole. No response at all. Maybe software or hardware failure. Returned right away.This device is not ready for prime time. Samsung failed this time. Not happy about it. Needs improvement!!!

I am not happy with my purchase of the samsung gear s2 smartwatch. It was a huge disappointment when after only 4 days that I bought it the watch completely froze up on me and there was nothing I or the geek squad could do to get it to work.

I purchase an open box special online this past week. The prior owner had placed a lock on it rendering the watch impossible to sync up with a new phone. Best Buy neglected to ensure the watch was ready to be resold. So now I have to return to the store and go through a refund and repurchase a new watch in lieu enjoying a deal on a preowned one.

This is a nice watch for your Samsung phone but it is not very use full. The S health did not get any data from the Watch automatically only when it was interacted with by me fiddling with it. The S health has no problem collecting data automatically from a Moto 360.

I unfortunately did not get a chance to experience this watch. I purchased a pre-owned one and pretty much could not do anything with it. The previous user set a password lock on the watch which cannot be reset by Samsung or Geek Squad so I had to return the watch.

No MIC! No SIM option so no standalone This version is garbage. Get the 3G version.

Unlike my older Neo model, there is no speaker. I can no longer make or receive calls....you have to pay extra for the other version along with a phone plan...Big Stp Backwards....I returned it
