I hate be that person but it's frustrating, it's not the first time Best buy does me dirty. Because I was little late to order this notebook it run out stock so I didn't have other choice but buy it open box which is only 20 less. Since some open boxes are certified by geek squad for only 10 extra I decided to get it certified. Big mistake, I never used geek squad and can tell you I won't recommend it, the laptop arrived everything was great except the broken battery, it wouldn't charge more than 85% plus battery overheating, obviously the laptop was not certified correctly. To put the cherry on the top Best buy offered me a new battery for 10% off, what a great customer services, after purchasing a like new laptop for like full price they want to charge me extra money for the geek mistake. Even tho I loved this laptop sadly I had to return it. Thank you best but.

about average computer for a college student not good for anything else

Okay laptop for a low budget consumer. I would recommend it.

It does the job in which it was intended no complaints

was on my new laptop got a versus and had to call the number and had to pay to much $$ to get it removed. Now i'm scared to bank on line.Should had bought a MAC.

If you are considering purchasing this laptop, first run a comparison of this laptop and every other laptop with similar feature, i5, dedicated graphics card and you will find similar specs will run you roughly $300 more. When I initially purchased it, it needed significant updates to run smoothly, but this is really par for electronics in since broadband Internet became widely available. A bit unusual from my personal experience was the need to use the Samsung update software, over the Windows updater but once I figured this out, its been really smooth sailing. If you are having trouble installing Office, use the updater several times and you will likely be good to go. Computer is fast, the added graphics card helps significantly with video editing. The computer starts fast. Solid battery life. I love the inclusion of a nine key number pad! While it makes the laptop larger than the last few I have purchased, it brings with it additional screen size which is nice. This laptop is big and a little heavy, but its not too bad. A few people have mentioned a lack of an optical drive. This is somewhat par for the PC market. I purchased an external drive for a mere $20 at Best Buy. There is embedded SD card reader. $5 for a USB reader. My only minor complaint is internal speakers are fairly quiet. If you intend to use for music buy an external Bluetooth speaker. If you intend to use to attend online lectures or play video games, wear headphones.

Within 2 weeks of purchase the hard disk crashed and Best Buy has been so cooperative for working towards the replacement; I had some important files in that laptop without a backup; I am paying the Data Recovery Center and waiting for the verdict

I bought this item geek squad certified it came with bad battery, of course Best buy wanted to charge me extra for a new battery.

it is a great computer, dont get me wrong, but i think that there may be a problem. none of the usb ports support usb 2.0! the manual says it does, but it lacks the drivers to run off of these. only the usb 3.0 drivers are there!. it has no internal disk drive, and the mouse pad is extremely slow. other than that, the only bugs there are are in the os itself. now time for pros! the key board is nice and clear. function keys are just right for windows ten. and, it has wired connection capability! (i dont normally see that in newer laptops) yes, it has some cons, but it will definatly work for you!

Very good laptop for the money spent; fast connection and v. good internet surfing. Like the reliable and quick touch screen feature. Major minus: keyboard not comfy and not lit. Way better than other comparable laptops from other two major makers. Would recommend!

Been working great for 6 years touchscreen is helpful good buy overall.

The laptop meets all of my expectations, and I am a picky shopper. I would give everything a five, battery life, screen size, picture quality, sound, responsiveness, and it's able to keep up with my fast paced life, which means I can open and work on as many browsers as l like without experiencing any lag time. I would buy this one again!

easy to use good graphics , easy to carry around love it

I have an uncle who was looking to replace a 2012 ASUS laptop. He'd only used it for the basics (web surfing & email) but also wanted a bit of power should he choose to do anything more complex. We happened to come across this model at a local Best Buy store. A very helpful sales associate told us they had the same model open-boxed for a (much) lower price. Upon seeing that the unit was in pristine condition (and knowing this particular store's excellent track record with open box products) He purchased the laptop and added a 2yr protection plan (just to be on the safe side). I then decided to treat my uncle to an SSD upgrade & data transfer (both services were performed by the Geek Squad). Less than 24 hours later he was back to streaming Hulu Plus and typing up Microsoft Word documents. Can't really speak for the speed and performance prior to the SSD upgrade but this thing is blazing fast! My uncle also noted the "instant startup feature" as soon as the lid is opened (even if the computer was powered off). I doubt the touch screen will get much use (he's more of a wireless mouse guy). kinda surprised the keyboard isn't backlit considering the original price point.

My only complaint is that you need external memory.

Purchased 2 weeks ago, got exactly what I paid for. NO DVD - who needs this days. Backlight - you do not live in the cave.

I'm coming up on 2 years with this machine and It still works great. I use it 10+ hours a day and I haven't had a single problem with it. All my previous laptops started to have performance issues after a year or so and required a hard reset and reinstall Windows. But I never had to do any of that with this Samsung Laptop. Best laptop I've ever bought under $600.

While I had to send mine in to be repaired, I did enjoy using it. While it might not be able to run modern games like Anthem, Dark Souls 3, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, etc., overall it is a nice laptop. It was a bit heavy as a student, but overall I liked it.

I got this laptop as my graduation gift. It's fast and good at multitasking. I enjoy the look of it and the battery life is good.

Great quality and works so well, so long. Regular maint. & check-up's keep it going so well & so long.
